Virgil was laying in his room with his sound-cancelling headphones on. The day started out normal, just like any other. Virgil wouldn't go to bed until five in the morning and wake up around nine, just laying there in peace, awaiting his beloved boyfriend to come rushing in and "wake him up."

Hours passed and Roman still hadn't come to awake Virgil, odd he was usually here within fifteen minutes.

Virgil decided to get up, with nothing short of a groan of course, and be the stupid one here and awake his beloved boyfriend. Gross. Just the thought of him being the romantic one in the relationship made him ill.

So, Roman... where are you?

Virgil walked across the hall to his lover-boy's door and knocked a few times: No Response. This sent a moment of fear through Virgil, if he was in his room he was usually ecstatic to answer the door, especially when it was Virgil.

Maybe he's in the living-room.  He wasn't

Kitchen?  Nope.

Logan's Room? Nuh uh.

Patton's.... Nah.

Now Virgil was growing frantic, where had his boyfriend gone?! As Virgil was frightfully searching the house for his lover, he had come to a scary realization, he had never really opened Roman's bedroom door.

Virgil paused as he came across that exact door and gulped, for the first time he was afraid to open this door. Carefully and cautiously, Virgil slowly opened the door with a creek.

When the door was open enough for him to see what was inside, he was horrified. He saw Roman pinned against the wall across from the door, his room a dim gray. Darker than Virgil's... and that's saying a lot.

When he realized that Roman was pinned against the wall by a black, sticky, gooey, oozey substance. Virgil stood there... shocked, it was all over the wall and all over Roman, covering his torso through his legs and covering his mouth.

Virgil was silently crying as he walked up to his Royal, he could hear Roman murmuring something but couldn't really understand it due to the unknown substance that was surrounding him.

"Ro, w-what..."  Virgil was so worried and scared he had stopped forming proper sentences. All he could do was force himself to try and help Roman, he reached out to try and pull some of the gooey unknown substance off of Roman when Roman had hastily shook his head "No"

Virgil looked at him confused until he got an idea, he picked up a pencil nearby and poked the black gooey substance, it had engulfed the pencil almost immediately, leaving Virgil even more scared than he was worried.

"H-How?" Was all he could work up to say. All of this was making him realize, maybe there was no way of saving Roman. Maybe this was it... Maybe he was meant to be a lone... forever.

Virgil tried for hours, taking everything he could, pulling, throwing, screaming, crying. Everything he tried didn't work, no matter how hard he tried. All that was left of Roman now was his eyes, the tips of his fingers, and the tips of his shoes.

Virgil knew... It was only a matter of time.

So, he decided to calm himself from his fright and stop asking himself questions as he just sat on his lovers bed, facing him and talked, well... for once he did most of the talking.

"Remember our first date?"

Virgil looked up at Roman with a sad smile, he could see Roman's eyes glisten with held back tears. Even when he was near his death, he was so beautiful.

Virgil chuckled and dropped his gaze back to the floor as he began to fiddle with the sleeve of his hoodie. "I didn't even like you because of your stupid ego, in fact I think I resented you..."

Roman rolled his eyes as a few tears fell down his cheek.

Virgil looked back up at Roman with a smile as he stood, tears falling from his eyes. "You tried so hard to get me to like you, for me to even be as much as a good friend but I did nothing but refused."

Knowing exactly what Roman was thinking, something probably along the lines of: You've always been so stubborn. or Well, you don't always trust everyone, and for that I am understanding and loving. Either way Virgil thought it was stupid, but he loved it.. he loved him.

Virgil chuckled and shook his head, wiping his tears and looking Roman in the eye. "You were such a stupid Romantic and I didn't believe in love. You fell for me and I swore I wouldn't fall for you... look how that turned out..."

Virgil continued to silently sob as the black goo was taking Roman from him. "... Roman, I hate you and I love you at the same time. I always will, even if you leave me."

Before he knew it, Roman was gone. Virgil cried out loud and fell to his knees, his chest hurt, it felt like needles were constantly stabbing him from the inside out.

He had lost the one that made him believe.
