So, if you didn't know... Scarlet Letter's were used for women who committed adultery, they were marked with a scarlet "A", it was basically used to mark or brand those women.

I only put this in here because of the title. Okay, well.... time to get to writing and then publishing so that you guys can READ!

Also, this story has suicide in it so if your sensitive to that I suggest you don't read this!

Love you guys! ;p

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Virgil's parents were divorced, he lived with his father while his mother never made an effort to be in his life.

It's been like this since he could remember.

Virgil's father was a businessman so he never really got to see him either, one night before his father left for work.. Virgil was in his room minding his own business when his father came rushing in.

Virgil jumped from the sound of his door swinging open, the force could've cause it to fall to the ground.
"VIRGIL DAMON  BLACK!!"

Virgil sat up and lazily put his attention on his father as he prepared for whatever he'd done wrong now.
"What?"

His father looked at him darkly and retorted. "You... you never told me you were gay."

Virgil's eyes widened and he stopped breathing for a second. "Get out."

Sure the moment seemed sentimental but deep down, it was quite the opposite. Being the son of a businessman you tend to pick some things up... like how they work.

"Virgil, you know I can help you with this... all you need is some th-"

Virgil glared at his father and quickly stood, his heart rate began to quicken as he spoke calmly but firmly.
"Say that word and it'll be the last one you say!"

His father nodded and raised his hands in defeat.
"Alright, Alright... but I don't want you to think that you can't come to me about this.... disease. I can help fix you, you just have to be willing to ask for the help.. I love you Vee!"

Virgil shook his head, not giving into his father's antiques. "No you don't and don't call me that, you don't deserve to!... if you did love me you wouldn't hurt me. You wouldn't blame me for all of your issues, you wouldn't emotionally abuse me!!!"

Virgil's father was shocked that his son had finally stood up to him, Maybe if he wasn't so busy shoving dicks up his ass we could actually have a relationship.

His father just smiled smugly as his son looked as if he were about to kill him, "Fine then, I will leave for work but when I come back later in the week, I don't want you here."

Virgil's father grabbed his suitcase and left without another word, for hours Virgil just cried, he beat himself up for the thing he couldn't control. He was gay and he had to face that... alone.

About a week later, Virgil was living at his friends apartment. His friend Patton was always there to pick up the pieces when he broke down or had any trouble.

Virgil hadn't went to school all week so he could 'settle in' emotionally. It was early the next day and Virgil hadn't fallen asleep yet from the previous night, he stayed silent as Patton had left for school.

Later that day when Patton got home, he was excited to hang out with the boy he had fallen in Love with, today he thought would be the day he would confess his love but instead when he walked up to his best friends door, he found a letter taped on the door that said To Patton:

Before he dared to open it, Patton opened the door, his haze never left the letter as he walked into Virgil's new room. "Hey kiddo, what's this about?"

When Patton looked up, he was horrified... All sense of hope for the future with his friend had left when he saw Virgil laying, lifeless on the ground surrounded by a pool of blood.

Patton dropped the letter, no longer caring about it as he picked Virgil up and lifted him into his lap as he sobbed. Virgil's head rolled, lifelessly to the other side of Patton's arm as said person began to scream and cry, Patton brushed some blood off of his dear friends face, making it smear up to his forehead as he began to mumble "I loved you more than you could ever know... I always will..."

It had been a month since Virgil Blacks tragic suicide and Patton barely left his house, he never even opened the letter that Virgil had wrote him, and he certainly never dared to enter Virgil's room.

One day, he was sitting in the same apartment with his brother Logan. They were just sitting in a thick silence as they stared at the letter. It wasn't until Logan had put his hand on Patton's shoulder when the poor boy was snapped out of his thoughts.

"Pat, I think it's time you open that.... what if it says something that he wanted you to do or something a long those lines."

Patton sighed and leaned on his brother, "Your right... but.." Logan shook his head and made Patton look him in the eyes. "No, don't question this... he cared for you. Trust me. Just open it."

So, carefully, Patton opened the paper to read:

Patton,

I don't know when you're reading this but.. I'm truly sorry. I know you're asking yourself why and if it was your fault.. trust me, it wasn't. You made my life so much better.

In my darkest moments where I didn't even know what direction to go to find the light... you gave me the flashlight and helped me brighten the path.

I am forever grateful to you. I am truly sorry for putting you through this pain, I loved you more than you could ever know... Stop asking yourself questions about how and why and what if... I want you to go and live with out me... please.
