FlashBack:
Virgil was in College, he didn't really know anyone but this guy who went by Roman. If you were to ask anyone who spoke to him for at least five minutes... Roman reminded you of a modern prince.
After a few years of school and dealing with the insufferable Roman... Virgil realized something, he felt... different. He wasn't sure how, because it was a new feeling... but he felt it.
It was like, every time he was around Roman he just wanted to shake him and yell. "I love you, ya fucking ditz!" but he wasn't sure why... because he didn't love Roman. Right?
One day after class, both of them were headed to there dorms when he just stopped.
"Vee, You okay?"
Virgil tried to swallow but the gut-wrenching and choking feeling was making it incredibly difficult. "Uh, y-yeah... I'm fine."
That was a lie and Roman knew it... but if Virgil didn't want to be bothered, he didn't want to intrude. "Vee, we both know that's not true. But I know how stubborn you are and if you're not willing to let me help, then I won't. Please, Vee..."
Roman put his hand on Virgil's shoulder and gently pulled him back to look him in the eye. "... Let me help you."
Virgil just sighed and smiled, what Roman didn't see in that smile was that it was coming from a place of love-sickness and false hope.
"I didn't want to tell you this because I didn't want to jeopardize our friendship... but, I love you, Roman."
There was an odd moment of silence, and in that moment of silence, both of their minds were racing.
That's it... you fucked up. You lost your friend and your love.
Roman was just staring Virgil in the eye... his mouth hanging open While Virgil was facing the ground, awkwardly rubbing his neck.
He loves you...
"Virgil..."
Virgils gaze shot up as he interrupted Roman, he was fearful of what his next words would be... whatever it was, it would alter their friendship greatly.
"No, No... It's okay... you don't have to sugar coat it. I-I understand." Virgil sighed and began to back away, tears were beginning to fill his eyes. What he didn't know was that it hurt Roman to see him like this, it hurt Roman to see him think that no one could love him... including Roman.
"Vee, stop."
Virgil froze in place and looked up at Roman a little confused, he had been sure of himself that he didn't love him... at least not in that way.
"Virgil, I do love you, I have for years..."
And before Roman could finish, Virgil had ran up to him and hugged him.. crying. "I-I fucking h-hate y-you!"
Roman just smiled and hugged him back, tripping a little. "No, you love me."
Present:
It had been five years since Virgil and Roman began dating... and Virgil had a surprise. He was going to propose to his boyfriend!
Just have to wait... the right moment.
Virgil had waited all day, waited for his boyfriend to return home from work. He set up the perfect, cliche date... just like Roman liked.
It all started when Virgil began to get down on one knee...
"Vee, what are you doing?" Roman looked around anxiously as Virgil began to speak. "Ro, you are the best thing that's ever happened to me. You help to bring out the me that I've lost... People have two arms, two legs, two eyes, two hands, and two feet but we only have one heart because we're supposed to find the other one."
Virgil then pulled out a ring and smiled "Roman... Will you be my other heart?"
Roman winced, he feared this would happen. "Ouch... that must've hurt you to be that cliche and romantic. And it ultimately sucked.
"So..?"
You have no idea how much it hurt Roman to do this... but he had to. Roman shook his head and walked away, leaving Virgil there... alone.
To Be Continued...
... I just have a habit of adding "To Be Continued" So that may be what I do from now on.
See ya later Sinners ;) ~T
