~Recap Why is he being so nice?

Virgil politely took his hand as the stranger pulled him up, he stated: "His name is Cookies, and mine is Patton. What's yours?"

Everything about Virgil was telling him not to tell him, but for some reason... "V-Virgil."

Patton smiled and nodded, wrapping an arm around Virgil as they walked away from the park. "Well, nice to meet you Virgil, I can tell we are going to be excellent friends."

And that was just the beginning. Recap Over~

================================================================================

It had been a few years since Virgil had encountered the stranger named Patton who had slowly become a great friend, only... he wished for it to be more but he was scared, so he ran from his feelings.

One day while Virgil was just sitting against a tree in a wide open and fairly empty field, he looked up from his phone to see his friend walking up to him. The sight made him internally curse at himself.

So, knowing Virgil he only did the polite thing. He slid his headphones off of his head and down to his neck, acknowledging that he saw Patton.

The day seemed to go by fairly smoothly, they just sat and talked, laughed there were even moments of calm silence. The day went smoothly until Patton said: "You know I want you..." That made Virgil's breath stop in his tracks, he was seemingly talking to himself, thinking out loud maybe. That's what Virgil thought until he said this: "It's not a secret I try to hide."

For a second Virgil thought this was some kind of joke. "I know you want me So don't keep saying our hands are tied You claim it's not in the cards Fate is pulling you miles away And out of reach from me But you're here in my heart So who can stop me if I decide That you're my destiny?" As Patton sang he stood and held out his hand for Virgil. Virgil just stared at it, sliding his headphones off of his neck and setting both his phone and headphones on the ground. This had been everything he'd been waiting for...

"Virgil? What if we rewrite the stars?" Virgil shook his head and stood, stopping Patton in his tracks. "Stop, your all I hoped I'd ever find, in every single way... and everything I would give, is everything you couldn't take..."

Virgil cautiously stepped towards Patton and held his hands as he looked at the ground, not baring to stare into the one he loves eyes. "... Cause nothing feels like home,  you're a thousand miles away and the hardest part of living, is just taking breaths to stay."

Patton just stared at him blankly as his heart broke, but he wouldn't accept it. He couldn't. "Virgil... No one compares to you, once you find true love it lives on. Please don't do this to me... I'm scared that you won't be waiting for me on the other side."

Virgil just side, he didn't want to leave Patton like this, he loved him but.... he just didn't know. All of this made him feel like he was going to throw up.

"I-... I... I don't know." Virgil finally said quietly. To Patton, it was better than a direct rejection.
