Almost everyone was happy that Even was taking command of the army except for one. His own brother King Calder who was jealous of the love and trusted they gave Even then their own king. "Warriors get your weapons and armor ready for your journey," King Calder said as he tried to hide his jealousy. "May the gods be with you," King Calder continued as he stood up and walked away. As King Calder left the great hall everyone bowed to him. His wife Queen Gull was in the back watching her husband King Calder. She saw the jealousy in King Calder face as she walked into the great hall. After King Calder left the great hall was buzzing with conversation. Even walked towards the throne as Queen Gull sat down on her throne. "You've upset your big brother," Queen Gull said as she relaxed on her throne.
"What do you mean," Even asked as he grabbed a stool and sat in front of Queen Gull. "He's getting jealous of you Even," Queen Gull replied. "He wants the power that you have over our people. He wants to be like his father, a king, a successful raider and not called Calder the failure," Queen Gull continued. "It's his fault that he's a failure," Even said. "I'm not the reason he fails. He's not a good king or a warrior," Even continued with anger in his voice. "Don't let Calder hear you say," Queen Gull said. "He might kill you or banish you," Queen Gull continued. "Then who would save his live from the raids and battles," Even asked as he laughed. "You can be so cruel," Queen Gull replied. Even shrugged and got up from the stool as Queen Gull worried about her husband's life and mental health.
The next day Even and King Calder's men were packing up the boats with their weapons, food, armor, water, ale, and beer. A few hours later King Calder and Queen Gull were watching the boats sail away. "What are you thinking," Queen Gull asked. "I'm thinking about my brother and his confidence of this raid," King Calder replied as he looked at Queen Gull. "I'm confident that he'll fail," King Calder continued as he turned away and walked home. Queen Gull watched her husband walk away as she shook her head for the feud between King Calder and Even. Back in King Edwin's castle. King Edwin was sitting on his throne when a noble brought in a servant into the throne room. "Who is this you've brought to me," King Edwin asked as he looked at the servant.
"A servant girl who works for your wife Queen Ada," The noble replied as he brought the servant closer to the throne. "She has some news about your Queen Ada," The noble continued. "What is it," King Edwin asked with curiosity. "I saw your wife Queen Ada talking and kissing the commander of your army," The servant said. "She called him the man I love. The commander warned her that you might know about them from one of the vikings. She said that they were just trying to get to them and then kissed," The servant continued. King Edwin was filled with rage and hatred for his wife Queen Ada. "Guard," King Edwin yelled and everyone looked at him with fear and worry. "Yes my King," The guard asked as he walked towards King Edwin. "Bring my wife Queen Ada and my son Fulton now," King Edwin replied. "But don't tell them why," King Edwin continued.
"Yes my king," The guard said as he bowed and walked away. "Also have another guard bring me the commander," King Edwin said as he started to calm down. "I'll have one of the guards bring him to you right away," The guard said as he stopped and bowed again then walked out the throne room. "Bring the commander to the king right away," The guard said to another guard. "What for," The other guard asked. "Don't ask questions," The guard replied. "Just do as you're told," The guard continued as he walked away. A few minutes later the guard knocked on Fulton's bedroom door. "Come in," Fulton said. "What is this," Fulton asked as the guard entered Fulton's bedroom. "Prince Fulton your father wants to see you now in the throne room," The guard replied as he bowed
"Did he say what he wanted to see me," Fulton asked as he grabbed an apple from a bowl on his desk. "He wants you Prince Fulton," The guard replied. "That's all i'm allowed to say," The guard continued as he bowed and left the room before Fulton could ask anymore questions. The guard walked to Queen Ada's bedroom. The door was opened when the guard approached Queen Ada's bedroom. As the guard entered Queen Ada's bedroom she heard footsteps. She turned around with a smile on her face and was disappointed when she saw the guard in her bedroom. "Forgive me Queen Ada but your husband King Edwin wants to see in the throne room," The guard said as he bowed. "Tell my husband i'll come right away," Queen Ada said.
"Yes Queen Ada," The guard said as he stood up and walked away. The other guard walked up to the commander as he was exiting his bedroom. "Commandor, King Edwin wants to see you it's very important," The other guard said. "What for," The commander asked with confusion on his face. "He didn't say," The other guard replied. "All I know is that King Edwin," The other guard continued. "Ok lead the way," The commander said with confusion and irritation on his face. Ten minutes later everyone was in the throne. "Husband what is this," Queen Ada asked as the commander arrived to the throne room. "I've some disturbing news about you," King Edwin replied. "You've been sleeping with the commander of my army. Whispering sweet nothings in his ear," King Edwin continued.
Queen Ada, Fulton, and the commander were filled with shock and disgust. "How dare you accuse me of doing something like," The commander asked with anger. "I've been nothing but loyal to this family," The commander continued as his anger grew. "I have so much evidence against you that says otherwise," King Edwin replied with a mischievous smile. "You don't have any evidence," Queen Ada said as she laughed. "What evidence do you have against me," Queen Ada asked. "You told the commander to attack Earmon when I said not to," King Edwin replied. "No I didn't," Queen Ada said as she acted shocked. "Yes you did mother," Fulton said. "Don't try to lie now," Fulton continued as he laughed.
Queen Ada looked at her son with shock of his betrayal. "We also have someone that saw you and the commander being intimate together," King Edwin said. "Guard bring the servant girl back here," King Edwin continued as he looked at the guard. "Yes my king," The guard said as he bowed and left the throne room. A few minutes later the guard brought the servant back into the throne room. "Welcome back servant," King Edwin said with a smile. "Thank you my king," The servant said as she bowed and stood up. "Tell them what you have told me," King Edwin said as he looked at Queen Ada and the commander. "I saw you talking and kissing the commander of King Edwin's army," The servant said. "You called the man I love. And you the commander warned her that you might know about them from one of the vikings. She said that they were just trying to get to them and then kissed," The servant continued.
