Everyone in Asbjorn Island was working hard and getting things done for the attack on King Calder's kingdom. Hertha and Olin had gotten over their spat when she returned home. Everyone who was heading to battle was aware of the plan. The boats were ready to sail and the weapons, armor, and shields were made by the blacksmith. Thirteen day had arrived and everything was finished just in time. By noon the boats were filled with food, drinks, camp equipment, weapons, shields, and warriors. Ten minutes later the boats started to sail away. Eirik and Stigr were talking to each other as they sat down. "The warriors you've been fighting with in battle have told me you're a warrior like your father," Eirik said. "No i'm not there yet," Stigr said with a smile on his face. "But I hope to fight like him someday," Stigr continued.

"I'll know you will," Eirik said as he patted him on his back. "The gods have blessed this family with the skill to fight. And this is how we use it," Eirik continued. "It's what we do best as Borg's," Hertha as she sat behind them with Olin. Seven days later King Hjalmar's boats started to get close to Geirland and one of the guards saw the boats thirty minutes away from the shore. The guard got on his horse and rode to Gosta as fast as he could. When he entered the great hall King Calder was arguing with one of the Jarls by his throne. "The defence of Gosta is fine," King Calder said with anger in her voice. "They will not enter this castle. Many people have tried before and failed doing so," King Calder continued. "When people attacked this land your father was king not you," The jarl said. "The defences of Gosta haven't been mended in a long time. That's not the only problem I have. Your brother is among this army who's going against you. He knows the kingdom very well," The jarl continued.

"Don't worry my friend," King Calder said as he looked at him. "The gods are with us. Just have faith in the gods and in me as a king," King Calder continued. "King Calder I saw ships heading this way," The guards said as he walked up to him. "I think King Hjalmar and your brother Even are here," The guard continued. "How many ships did you see," King Calder asked as he stood up from his throne. "I lost count at twelve," The guard replied. "When I saw the ships they were thirty minutes away from docking. They should be setting up camp by now," The guard continued. "Then it's time to prepare for battle," King Calder said. "They'll attack soon but not today. They'll need to replenish their strength for the battle. If they don't attack in two days we'll attack their camp. Double the scouts and guards outside Gosta," King Calder continued.

"Yes King Calder," The guard said as he walked away. "If we are going to win we should give the gods a sacrifice and ask for the blessing for this battle," The jarl said. "I agree with you," King Calder said. "I'll let the people know," King Calder continued as the Jarl walked away before he finished talking. As King Calder was giving the gods a sacrifice, the camp was set up in the woods. The camp was not far from the sea and close to Gosta. A few scouts of King Calder discovered the camp and laying down were counting how many warriors did King Hjalmar and Even brought with them. The scouts got up to one hundred thirty warriors as Hertha, Stigr, and Olin walked up behind them. "Look at what we got here," Hertha said as she unsheathed her sword. The scouts turned around with fear on their faces. "You're scouts of King Calder, yes," Stigr asked. "Yes we are," The first scout replied. "Please don't kill us," The second scout said as he started to cry. "You young men are such cowards," The third scout said as he shook his head in shame.

"I'm not afraid to die for my home," The third scout continued as he stood up. "But you won't say the same thing for your king," Stigr asked. "The king doesn't care about us," The third scout replied. "Nor does his brother. Even is a traitor to us. I'll die for my home but I won't die for a failure of a king or a traitor. Kill me if you can," The third scout continued as he unsheathed his axe. "I can kill you," Stigr said as he unsheathed his axe. The third scout ran towards as Stigr waited for him to be in reach so he could finish off the scout quickly. When the third scout was in reach Stigr tripped him and watched him hit his head on a tree. Blood ran down his forehead from an open wound as he fell down to the ground. When the third scout sat up he felt dizzy. Before he could stand up Stigr cut off his head with his axe. "What should we do with these two," Olin asked, looking at the two scouts.

The first scouts to throw up when they saw the dead scout's chopped off head. The second scout was still crying his eyes out. "Tie them up to a tree or a pole back at camp," Hertha replied as she looked at them with disgust. "Their not worthy killing right now. We have more important people to kill," Hertha continued as she walked away. The next morning everyone split up to three groups. Eirik and Stigr were part of the first group that attacked from the mountains. King Hjalmar, Hertha, and Olin were part of the second group who would fight their way to the gates of Gosta. Even was part of the third who would fight from the hill. A few of the warriors stayed behind to protect the camp. As everyone from King Hjalmar's camp got ready for battle, King Calder's was filled with stress and worry as he walked into the great hall. "What's wrong my love," Queen Gull asked as she stood up from her throne. "The scouts that I send out to find King Hjalmar's camp have not returned," King Calder said. "They were supposed to return three hours ago whether they found anything or not," King Calder continued. "Which means they're either captured or killed," Queen Gull said.

"Now if they don't attack tomorrow we have no idea where their camp will attack them," King Calder said. "I feel so lost. I don't know what to do," King Calder continued as he sat down in a chair and put his head in his hands. "Don't worry calder," Queen Gull said as she sat down next to him. "Have faith in yourself and in the gods. If you do the gods will reward you," Queen Gull continued. Thirty five minutes later the second group walked up to the group of guards. King Hjalmar had two hundred warriors with him while there were three hundred guards defending the road to Gosta. The guards might have the number but most of them never fought in battle. Some never held a weapon in their lives, they were forced to join the defense to pay off their debt to the king. "Charge," King Hjalmar yelled as he ran towards the group of guards. They unsheathed their weapons and ran towards them.

"Shield wall," One of the guards yelled as he raised his shield. The other guards raised their shields as King Hjalmar and his warriors got closer to them. When King Hjalmar and his warriors clashed they ran into the shield wall some of the guards fell over and left an opening. Hertha, Olin, and forty eight warrior entered the shield wall. Hertha killed thirty six guards with her sword. Olin killed twenty nine guards with his axe. King Hjalmar killed forty six as he entered the broken shield wall. The other warriors killed hundred eighty nine guards as they followed Hertha and King Hjalmar. Twenty minutes later Stigr saw his sister and his father come closer to the gates of Gosta. "There they are uncle," Stigr said as he pointed at him. "It's time for us to attack," Stigr continued. "Archer aimed for the guard towers," Eirik said. Hundred twenty warriors aimed their arrows at the guard towers. "Loose," Eirik continued.
