Olin and Stigr went against Hertha with Olin on the left and Stigr on the right. Hertha was in the middle ready to defend herself with an axe and shield. Olin charged with a sword in his hand and Hertha blocked Olin's sword with her shield. Hertha swung her axe below Olin's leg and tripped him. As he fell to the ground Hertha swung her axe down Olin's back. He screamed in pain even though the axe was blunted it still could bruise a person. Stigr striked Hertha on her arm with his sword while she had her shield down. She dropped her shield and dodged Stigr's next strike. Hertha swung her axe and hit the side of Stigr's stomach. As Stigr bent over in pain Hertha hit Stigr over the head with the axe handle.
Hertha laughed victoriously as Stigr fell to the ground with blood coming out the right side of his head. "I didn't knock you too hard did I," Hertha asked as she offered a hand to Stigr. "No, I'm fine," Stigr replied as she grabbed her hand and she pulled him up. "Why do you fight so hard," Olin asked as he got up. "We're just practicing," Olin continued. "Because i'm still filled with this energy from the raid," Herha said as she let Stigr go. "So am I" Stigr said as he tried to wipe some of the blood off his head with his arm sleeve. "What do you want to do," Olin asked as he looked at Hertha and Stigr. "We could go hunting in the east woods," Hertha said. "And we can sell the pelt of gold and silver," Hertha continued.
"I'll go and get the equipment ready," Olin said as he walked away. "And i'm going to clean this wound on my face," Stigr said as he headed home. "Ok i'm to sharpen our weapons before we go hunting," Hertha said as she headed to the blacksmith's shop. An hour later Olin had the arrows , bows and daggers. Stigr had the wound on his face clean up as he walked up to Olin. Hertha came out of the blacksmith's shop and met up with Olin and Stigr. "Here are your weapons," Hertha said as she handed Olin and Stigr their weapons. "Thank you sister," Stigr said as he sheathed his sword. "I've got the bows and arrows for you," Olin said as he handed out the bows and arrows to Stigr and Hertha. "Thank you Olin," Stigr said as he strapped the bow and arrow on his back. "Let's go before it gets too dark," Hertha said as she strapped the bow and arrow on her back.
A few hours later Even and King Calder's army arrived by a village called Jebbe. It was a farming village with one hundred and thirty people. Even camped by his ships but he still had a good view of the farm village. He got on top of a hill with two other men scouting Jebbe. "We attack tomorrow at noon," Even said as he looked at the two men. "We will split into groups at noon. The first group will attack from the back of Jebbe. The second group will attack at the entrance. The first group will attack first then the second group will attack in the next few seconds," Even continued as he pointed at the two attacking positions. "Yes, I'll make sure everything is ready tonight," One man said. "Thank you," Even said with a smile. "Let's head back to camp and get some rest," Even continued as he left the hill.
The next day at noon Even was with the first group by pigs pen where everyone in the village stayed away from. "Attack now," Even screamed as he moved away from the pigs pen. He killed a young farmer and another who grabbed an axe to defend himself. A few of King Calder's men killed some of the old men and some of the women. The second group entered the entrance and attacked thirty people. One of the farmers headed to his home. His family was afraid of what they saw out the window. As he entered the house his wife and son looked at him with fear in their eyes. "We're getting raided by some men," The farmer said as he grabbed his sword and usheasted the weapon. Even and two other men entered the farmer's home with their weapons and body covered in blood. The farmer charged at Even with his sword. Even dodged the farmer's and stabbed him in the back with his sword.
"Father no," The boy screamed as he watched his father fall to the ground as Even pulled out his sword out the farmer's back. Even looked at the boy with sadness. The two men killed the boy and the farmer's wife as Even watched in shock. The rest of the army collected treasure and burned the village to the ground. While Hertha, Olin, and Stigr left their camp to hunt for sport. "Look deer tracks," Hertha said as she pointed at the animal footprints. "It looks like the tracks led down to the river," Stigr said as he examined the tracks. "Then let's find the deer and kill it," Hertha said as she followed the deer tracks quietly. Four minutes later Hertha spotted the deer drinking water out of the river. She grabbed an arrow out the quiver and took aim.
As she released the arrow, it went through the deer's neck. After they took the dead deer back to camp. Ten minutes later they went back to the woods and caught rabbits, fishes, and a wolf. Eight minutes later they headed back to camp. Hertha and Stigr were skinning the deer, rabbits, and the wolf. Olin was cooking the fish they had caught by the fire. By nightfall Hertha, Olin, and were eating the food they've caught and they ate it all. An hour later they were asleep by the fire when Stigr woke from a tree branch breaking. "Hertha wake up," Stigr said as he shook Hertha's shoulder. "What," Hertha asked as she slowly woke up. "Do you hear that," Stigr asked as he heard voices coming closer. "Olin wake up, we may be under attack," Hertha said as she grabbed her axe.
