As King Calder pulled out Kory's back and watched him fall to the ground, he's wife came out of the hut. When she saw Kory's body on the floor she screamed. Kory's wife ran towards him and flipped his body on his back. When she flipped Kory on his back he had a big open wound on his stomach. It turns out that King Calder's sword went through Kory's stomach too. His wife tried to stop the bleeding with her hands as Kory pulled her hands away from him. "My time is done my love," Kory said as blood came out of him. "This was fated to happen. There's nothing we can do now," Kory continued. His wife started to cry as Kory took his last breath of life. King Calder felt sorry for Kory's wife as she cried on his chest. "We could end her suffering King Calder," One of his men said. "I could easily slit her throat," The man continued.
"No i'm going to keep my promise to Kory," King Calder said as he wiped the blood off his sword with the sleeve of his shirt. "Why would you keep your promise to someone who went up against you," The man asked as he sheathed his axe. "My people already hate me for what happened with my brother Even," King Calder as he sheathed his sword. "If I slaughter Kory's family they'll hate me even more. Kory was one of the best blacksmiths in Gosta. People loved him very much. They might be angry at me for killing Kory but they'll understand why I had to do it. After all he did insult me in my own home but to kill his whole family is too cruel," King Calder continued. "You may be right," The man said as he looked at the fifth man who was still alive. "What should we do with him," The man continued as he pointed at him. "He's still alive as far I can tell he may yet survive," King Calder replied as he walked up to the fifth man. "Carry him and take him back to the healer in Gosta. I'm going to stay behind for a while," King Calder continued.
"Yes King Calder," The man said as he walked up to the fifth man and picked him up. As King Calder's men walked away he walked up to Kory's wife. "I'm sorry for your loss," King Calder said as he crouched down by Kory's dead body and his wife. "Let me help you bury your husband," King Calder continued. "Ok," Kory's wife said as she looked up at him. Twenty minutes later King Calder buried Kory's body behind his hut while his wife cleans herself off and changes her clothes. A few minutes later his wife went to her husband's grave and started to cry again. King Calder felt guilty about killing him. Three minutes later King Calder started to leave the village and headed home. While back in Akehold the next day Roscoe and his men arrived to shore. He had two boats full of men, weapons, and shields.
Roscoe had thirty two men with him that agreed with Kory's decision to speak out against King Calder. When Roscoe told them what Kory confessed to him and eagerly joined Roscoe. Forty minutes later three of Roscoe's men arrived to Asbjorn Island. They told one of the guards that they wanted to speak with Even at their camp by the beach. When the three of Roscoe's men turned around and left, the guard went to Even. He was sitting at a table outside with a couple of his men taking and drinking beer as the guard walked up to him. "Someone wants to speak with you," The guard said. "Who wants to speak with me," Even asked as he drank his third cup of beer. "Three men walked up to me and said that he works for a man named Roscoe," The guard replied. "He wants to speak with you at his camp by the beach," The guard continued. "Thank you for the message," Even said as he looked at the guard.
"Of course," The guard said as he started to walk away. "Where are you going," One of his men asked as Even stood up from the table. "I'm going to go talk to Roscoe to see what he wants," Even replied as he finished drinking his third cup of beer. "You're going alone," The other man asked with worry on his face. "No i'm taking you two with me," Even replied. "What if your brother King Calder sent him here and he tries to kill us," The first man asked. "I doubt it," Even replied. "Roscoe doesn't support my brother and his decisions. Also Roscoe has lost his land to King Calder. He had gone into debt to get his land back. Let's go," Even continued. Forty minutes later Even and his men arrived to Roscoe's camp on horses. Roscoe walked up to him as Even and men got off their horses. "Welcome Even," Roscoe said with a smile on his face.
"You wanted to speak with me," Even asked as he looked at him. "Yes I do," Roscoe said. "Please follow me," Roscoe continued as he walked away. Even and his men followed Roscoe to his ten. "I'm glad you decided to speak with me," Roscoe sat down at the table with a jug of water and four cups. "Of course," Even said as he sat down at the table. "What do you want to talk about," Even continued as his men sat down next to him. "My friend Kory sent me here to give you a message to King Hjalmar," Roscoe replied as he filled four cups with water. "Your brother has raised an army to defend. Someone told him that you betrayed him and joined forces with King Hjalmar. He doesn't truly believe what they told him but he had to be cautious," Roscoe continued as he passed three cups to Even and his men. "Who told Calder that I betrayed him," Even asked as he drank his cup of water.
"One of King Hjalmar's servants told King Calder about the celebration of your alliance with him," Roscoe replied as he drank his cup of water. "That's who is imprisoned in King Calder's dungeon," Roscoe continued. "Why would Kory send you and your men here to betray Calder," Even asked. "Kory told me to tell you because King Calder wanted him dead," Roscoe replied. "When King Calder told us of your betrayal, Kory blamed him for it. Everyone knew that he wanted you to fail and Kory spoke against him. One of King Calder's guards told Kory Calder wanted him assassinated. So he wanted payback and that's why i'm here. He wants me and my men to join your forces," Roscoe continued. "How many men do you have with you," Even asked as he took another sip of water. "I have thirty two men with me," Roscoe replied.
"Ready a few of your men," Even said as he stood up from the table. "We're going to King Hjalmar and you're telling him what you told me," Even continued. Ten minutes later Even, Roscoe, and their men were on their horses and left camp. Forty minutes later Even, Roscoe, and their men arrived at the gates of Asbjorn Island. Roscoe brought four men with him to Asbjorn Island. "What are they doing here," One of the guards asked as she looked at Roscoe and his men. "They're with me," Even replied as he looked at her. "New arrivals of my army against my brother. They also have for King Hjalmar about my brother," Even continued. "Let them in," The guard yelled. "And tell King Hjalmar he has visitors," The guard continued as the gate opened. Five minutes later three guards were escorting to King Hjalmar's home. "Wait here I'll ask King Hjalmar if he wants to speak to his new visitors right now," One of the guards said as he stopped at the door of King Hjalmar's home.
