King Calder hasn't heard or seen his brother since the argument they had. When the servant of King Hjalmar talked about his brother Even he was afraid that Even had gotten himself killed. It was reported to him that a few of his men went missing. People were leaving for months now to find better opportunities and better pay so he didn't think anything of it. He also thought his brother went to his hunting hut to get away from the drama. But now he was thinking that his brother went raiding again on King Hjalmar's lands to prove him wrong. He started to regret his decision to make his brother a failure to make himself look better. "Did something happen to my brother," King Calder asked as he body with fear and worry. "Is he ok," King Calder continued. "King Calder your brother is fine," The servant replied. "But i'm afraid he no longer stands with you," The servant continued.

King Calder did not understand what she meant and was uncertain of Even's fate. "What do you mean by that," King Calder asked with confusion on his face. "Is he alive and safe. Or alive and trapped somewhere in King Hjalmar's lands," King Calder continued as his body filled with anger and worry. "Your brother is safe in King Hjalmar's lands," The servant replied. "What i'm trying to say is your brother is now King Hjalmar's ally. Even and King Hjalmar made a deal five days ago. They agreed on killing you and making Even king of Geirland. In exchange for his army in future raids and war," The servant continued. King Calder couldn't believe what he was hearing about his brother. He couldn't believe that his own brother would betray him to become king. "No, you're telling me lies," King Calder said as he stood up from his throne.

"My brother would never betray me. He would never take the throne from me. I'm his big brother therefore i'm the true heir to Geirland. He knows that. You're lying to me," King Calder continued as he walked up to her. "No i'm not lying to you King Calder," The servant said as she backed away from him. "He said that you were a failure. And he wants to make you for it by taking your kingdom," The servant continued. "No I do not believe you," King Calder said. "King Hjalmar sent you here to tell me lies. He wants revenge on me for attacking his land. Guards take her and put her in the dungeon! I will not hear anymore of her lies," King Calder continued. As the guards grabbed and took the servant away King Calder sat back down in his throne. Ten minutes later Queen Gull entered the great hall and sat down on her throne.

"What's wrong my husband," Queen Gull asked as she sat down on her throne. "One of King Hjalmar's servants who's now in our dungeons came here and gave news about my brother Even," King Calder replied. "She said that my own brother has betrayed me. Made a deal with King Hjalmar to replace me as king. But I don't know if it's true," King Calder continued as he looked at her. "It would explain his absence," Queen Gull said. "Nobody has seen since the argument you two had," Queen Gull continued. "Even would not betray our family name," King Calder said with confidence in his voice. "You called him a failure in front of everyone," Queen Gull said. "You embarrassed him badly. And I think he believed you. So he has to prove himself to the gods and to himself," Queen Gull continued. "What are we supposed to do," King Calder asked as he stood up from his throne.

"If it's true what King Hjalmar's servant told you then you should prepare an army an attack on our kingdom," Queen Gull replied. "You should also tell your people what's happening. They might not like it but they will thank you in time for defending our home from raiders and traitors," Queen Gull continued as she stood up from her throne. "You're right Gull," King Calder said. "I'll set up another meeting for tomorrow evening," King Calder continued as he walked away. The next day word spread to the people that King Calder had some news to tell them. They didn't know if the news was good or bad. They were worried what the news from King Calder could be. The last news he told them was about Even's failure. Eight hours later evening arrived and everyone was in the great hall waiting on King Calder.

Everyone was talking to each other about King Calder and how things went wrong this past few raids. They all failed and brought nothing but shame to Geirland and it's people. Thirteen minutes later King Calder and Queen Gull walked into the great hall. "It's good to see so many loyal friends and family among us," King Calder said as he sat down on his throne. "These are hard times to find such loyal people since the world is full of snakes. I just got news that my own brother Even took some of my men and made an alliance with King Hjalmar. And they're planning on attacking us. So we're going have to defend our home," King Calder continued as Queen Gull sat down on her throne. Most of them agreed with him, others did not believe a word he was saying. "If it's true what you're saying this is your fault King Calder," One man said as he walked closer to King Calder's throne. "Your brother was loyal to you. He loved you and he would've died for you. Yet you send him out on raids unprepared so he could fail," The man continued.
