I jolted back and forth in my seat nervously waiting to arrive at our destination wherever that may be. He drove me through a narrow rocky road in the middle of a field and in the distance you could see an old farm house, no other houses in sight. This panicked me even more, if he was going to hold me hostage - which he was most likely to do - then my chances of survival were slim, I wouldn't get very far.

He said nothing and I did the same, I didn't even dare to look at him worried that he might do something to me, something that was just as horrifying as what he did to that man. He pulled up right by the chipped front door and did every action with anger and/or frustration. He quickly made it to my side and grabbed my arm having no choice but to be manipulated him, I whimpered as he did so. He made his way up the creaky and dust covered steps taking two steps at a time, leading to the upper floor where there was 3 sets of door which were all closed. He took me into the furthest away one which had the bolt lock on the outside and twisted the doorknob nearly twisting it off its screws. At first glance, I noticed there was no bed frame, just a springy mattress on the wooden floor, the curtains were closed making the room dark and dust majestically floated around the room. He grunted as he flung me on the mattress and slammed the door behind him making sure bolt the door on the way out.

"Wait!" I screamed, I don't know why I did, I knew he wasn't going to show mercy, and even if he did wait, what would I do then? I heard the familiar creak of the stairs, I assumed that he going back down the stairs. What to do now? Cry? Seems like a reasonable and appropriate thing to do in my current situation. When my crying period was over I took a peek out the window looking onto the endless golden fields ahead of me hoping that maybe somewhere out there was my family searching for me as I should've been back ages ago, I wonder how they must be feeling. The feeling of losing someone is excruciating, especially when it's someone you love and hold most dear.

I sat at the very corner of the room on the mattress taking in my surroundings making things up in my head of how the items in the room came to be as how they are now. The smashed lamp; was it thrown in anger? Was it accidentally smashed? Did it burst? Next item; the half ripped poster lying on the floor, was it deliberately ripped? Did it need taken down due to redecorating?

I did this for everything in the room trying to see if I could figure out my mysterious kidnapper and from what I could tell, he was an angry person.

My stomach growled, it's way of telling me that it needed fed but I didn't have anything I could satisfy it with. Hunger wasn't the only problem, boredom was another thing, there wasn't a lot you could do, it's not like I was expecting him to put me in a room where I could read a book or watch TV but I needed something just to keep my mind off for what the future had in store for me.

Once again I heard the creaking of the stairs as I heard, who I guessed was him, come up the stairs. I took a deep breath preparing me for what may come, which could possibly be my death. He unlocked the door and swung it open sending a draft of air to my face. I timidly sat there in the corner watching his every move cautiously. I took a look at his face which seemed less angered than before, but something still remained. He glared at me as I uncomfortably fidgeted in my space. He reached into his back pocket and I heard a rustling noise, he pulled whatever it was and threw it down infront of me, a packet of crisps. Joy. At least he gave me something. He looked down onto me as if he was dominant, like some ruler of a kingdom, some lousy kingdom it was; a farm.

"Do you want them or not?" He sternly asked.

I quickly nodded my head and went to go grab them when he turned around to close the door. No. I wasn't going to allow him him to walk away without an explanation.

"Why?" My mouse-like voice whimpered. He stopped in his tracks with his hand still on the door and his back facing me, god what have I done. I was expecting him to just ignore me but he turned round, his lips pursed and his eyes glued the floor, and slammed the door behind him leaving us both in the room. He crouched down to my level, elbows resting on his knees and his head low and sighed heavily. Did I annoy him? Sorry, so sorry just continue to go it's okay it's fine I didn't think you were going to stop please don't hurt me. I mentally pleaded.

"Complications." He simply said his voice now calmer which kind of settled me.

"And probably misjudgement." He added, what misjudgement? You killed someone, you kidnap me and keep me locked away with nothing to eat but a packet of crips, seems pretty straightforward to me.

"That's all you need to know."

What? No? That doesn't answer my question or any other question I was about to ask. Am I going to be free again? Are you going to keep me here? If so, for how long? These were the words I wanted to say out loud but knowing that by the way he acts and says things to wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him and you'd keep your mouth shut.

I worryingly look at him hopefully noting that I was completely terrified and I didn't want to go down the route that I was heading. His sorrowful eyes blinked away from me and strutted out the door. I am no mind reader or in any way a professional in the study of body language but I could tell he was hiding something. Something that not all people like him have; sympathy.
