"Excuse me?"

I couldn't help but smile, looking at his face made it impossible for me not to laugh. Feeling like something bad was going to happen I surprisingly jumped out his grasp and ran deeper into the woods with Dan on my tail. As I went further on into the woods, the branches became thicker making it almost impossible to walk through them without gaining a single scratch. I stopped and turned around to see Dan catching up with me.

"You can't escape."

"Oh what you gonna do? Kidnap me?" I joked, although it wasn't really a joke but I thought it fitted the occasion.

"I can do worse." He smirked back evilly squinting his eyes at me. I took my chances with him. This was with no doubt as dangerous as it could get.

"Prove it." I cheekily replied, adding a little attitude to my words. The way that smirk slyly got wider and wider made me internally scream, why was he such a tease?! Step by step he made his way over to me - the predator was on the hunt, ready to strike its defenceless prey that was innocently cowering away, having no option but to be devoured by this beast.

We stood face to face glaring into each other's eyes. I was trembling with anticipation, the uneasy feeling of waiting for something to happen was a feeling that has occurred many times. It made it worse that I didn't even know what it is I was waiting for. With his powers of hypnotism he had me under a spell, enchanted within his deep blue eyes that I had completely and utterly underestimated before.

Finally, the predator goes in for the kill. He turned my body to face to opposite direction, my back pressed against his chest and I was caught within his trap in seconds. One arm tightly cocooned my body while the other clasped over my mouth.

"This seems familiar." He chuckled, whispering those words into my ear, his lips brushing the tips. I became aware of the fact that my cheeks were redder than blood and that they were hotter than the sun and I didn't even have to look in the mirror, the last thing I wanted was for him to see how easily 'breakable' I was.

"Have we done this before?" He sarcastically asked. "Hmm, it must've been someone else...but you'll do just fine. You aren't ticklish...are you?" He asked dragging his words. I knew where this was going and I was not looking forward to it at all. I rolled my eyes, this was his idea of what he thinks is worse? I shook my head as enthusiastically as possible.

"Somehow I don't believe that."

I could sense his smile in his words. His hand applied more pressure onto my mouth, ready to hold me in place when I begin to squirm and wriggle about. I could feel his fingers hovering over my stomach ready to pounce at any second, my breathing became heavier and my eyes squeezed shut preparing myself for the attack.

My muffled voice echoed through the woods as Dan continuously tickled me to the point where I'd collapse with nothing but empty lungs, and tears streaming down my face. I did eventually fall to the floor now free of Dans grasp, gasping for air.

The hunt was complete.

I glared at him in a way that suggested that he should never do that again. But, however he just rolled his eyes and joined me by lying down on the ground beside me staring up at the clear blue sky.

"I want to talk to you." He said, calmingly.

"What about?" I asked.

"You."

"There's not much to me. I'm just as dull as it ge-"

"I don't care and you know that's not true. I want to know you. Tell me when your birthday is, what your favourite colour is, your favourite animal, your star sign, I want to know about your family, friends, anything personal...I need to know that there's more than just Amelia. I don't even think I know your second name. "

He was right, all he knew was my first name. All this time I thought he was a mystery, but the biggest mystery for him was me. It didn't even cross my mind to tell him anything about me I was just so focussed on getting to know him.

"Grace." I replied. He looked over to me forgetting what we just discussed. "My second name."

He looked up, blankly staring into the skies above us.

"Hmm, Amelia Grace..." He repeated. "It's a pretty name...for a pretty girl."

I blushed. Uncontrollably. He just called me pretty...

The way he had been treating me had been a massive improvement since when we first met, but what if that was only towards me? He explained to me that he had blocked everyone out and they had done the same to him as a result, he has made no attempt of contacting them. I wanted to carry out an experiment, one that would test the way Dan treats other people, I wanted to see if he's really changed or I just have an effect on him. Getting Dan to agree to this experiment might be a bit tricky but I believe he can do it. I'm only trying to look out for him as a friend.

We sat and chatted - embarrassingly about me - for a good few hours before we were interrupted by sirens. Peering through the branches, we saw two police cars with their sirens blaring speeding down the long drive way towards the house. We both panicked, Dan more than me. I tried to calm him down since he was losing it, screaming curses and braking branches. I told him to wait here, while I went back to sort this out.

I arrived just in time for the police to knock on the door demanding for it to be opened. I mentally readied myself, grabbed the doorknob and opened it to reveal a couple of tall police officers heavily geared up standing in front of me.

"Can I help you?" My timid voice spoke out.

"We are looking for a man, tall and dark short hair. It is suspected that he is the murderer of this man."

He showed me a photo of the drug dealer Dan had killed. I acted as though I had never seen him. I could get in so much trouble.

"I don't know who that is, I'm sorry."

"We were told that this is where the murderer lives."

I got nervous, I tried to think of excuses that I could come up. They would think that something was wrong if I said that has never lived here.

"Uh...the murderer, he is...he is my cousin. He did used to live here, but he mysteriously disappeared. Hasn't been here in a long time, I'd honestly tell you where he is if I knew but I don't. Can't believe this has happened."

I'm a better actor than I thought. They seemed to believe me any way. They asked me a couple of obvious questions like 'when did you last see him' and 'is there connections between Dan and the victim' and so on, all to which I lied to. They left for just now but somehow I knew they would be back soon, whether 'soon' was a few weeks or a few months I didn't know. I closed the door behind me resting my back on it relieved that everything went to plan, I just need to find Dan.

I waited until both police cars left and were well out of sight then went out the back door to find Dan. I found myself back at the spot that were in before we were disrupted by the sirens. Dan was no where to be found. I panicked, spinning myself round in circles trying find Dan. Where could he of gone? He definitely wasn't back at the house I would've passed him, could he of possibly ran away at the thought of the police arriving at his door? It seemed like a reasonable explanation. The disappearance of Dan was making frustrated, I told him to wait here! I cursed myself and at Dan... wherever he was. After an hour of searching I decided to return to the house and let himself find his way back to the house. I was angry at him for leaving but I was so worried, God knows what trouble he can get himself into especially with his temperamental attitude.

I read a book to take my mind off things. Getting myself into a comfortable position on the living room couch I readied myself for possibly a very long wait for Dan, he can't leave me here. The book I read was about a band and their journey through fame, how it brought them together and how it tore them apart. Then I remembered. Band. Bastille. British Breakthrough Act. How could I have forgotten?

A/n: Woo we reached 1k! I'm so glad that people are enjoying this since its rather different from other fanfics. Thanks a bunch!
