(Twelve months before........)
(Mount Komagatake, Japan)
(00:57hrs)
Thunder roared and rain heavily poured as it dropped down the dark night forest of Komagatake. The sounds of rain instantly drowned whatever noises from deep in the forest.
The sounds of engine revving and tyre skidding in the wet surface were soon getting louder and louder. Then from a hairpin two cars emerged flying out of it at full throttle.
It was a white Savanna RX-7 FC3S Infiniti III leading followed by a another metallic white Mercedes AMG GT-R. The tyres skidded on the wet surface as two drifting legends battled it out in the rain.
"Come on Flash!!!" The anglo American exclaimed as he shifted gears into the hairpin. Thomas kept his foot on the throttle, gassing and counter steering as he went, there was no slowing down cause it was about to get damn serious.
"Damn Friedland's quick even in the rain!" Cired a charcoal black haired Malaysian while using the shift lock drift technique to minimize damage to his drivetrain in the downpour. Louis shrugged as he needed to go faster. He had to.
"We're arriving in fast SENSEI!!!" The two yelled almost immediately as they reached the summit. Both drivers got off their cars and rushed into their sensei's hut, ignoring the heavy rain pouring on them.
A greying haired mechanic named Kaito, the owner of the Hasimoto Auto Shop and a former member of the legendary 90s racing team named the Blue Jets waited anxiously at the entrance is the hut.
"Thank God you two are here!" He said as soon as the two arrived soaking wet from the rain. "Hurry up we don't have much time!"
"Thanks for waiting Uncle Kaito." Thomas said as he entered the hut first.
"Thanks Kaito-senpai." Louis then entered soon after.
"*cough* *cough* *cough*" The old man laid in his bed gravely sick. Bottles of medicine were on a table beside him as well as Thomas's father, David Friedland the doctor who took care of his ill dear old friend.
"Here." David offered the dying Takeshi a spoonful of medicine but the old man shook his head weakly.
"Let someone else take the medicine." The old man's voice was getting hoarse. "I've traveled too far, seen too much. Trained the finest drifters to this day, I'm glad I've already accomplished my goal. So it's time for me to leave....."
"Sensei!" Thomas yelled as he rushed in the room. Louis behind him.
"My students.....*cough* *cough*" The old man wheezed. "It's so great to see you one last time again."
"Come here, Thomas." The man said as his eyesight was getting blurry from old age as the Drift King obeyed. His hair a little wet from the rain.
"Thomas you are the smartest racer I've ever meet in my life *cough* *cough* I've trained you without a single problem, your racing seed the strongest on the Earth most likely. I'm glad I taught you, I'm glad we crossed paths so I can see you attack the corners so elegantly it could make any drifter cry."
"Sensei....." Thomas was wordless, he held his master's hand dearly. "I hope you find happiness in racing heaven."
"I sure. would." The man then turned behind the Drift King. "Louis come here."
The two racing legends switched positions as Thomas moved to the back and Louis came front.
"Louis although you were like a lone Wolf, a creature as hard to train as stone but you were a excellent leader, you lead your team to victory one battle after another and that was what I'm proud of. Training you was also fun, I'm grateful you put your senses to the side and decided to go for my unlogical training methods though you found out later on."
