(Gifu countryside, 08:00hrs)

Miles from the bustling citys of Tokyo and other major cities of Japan. The Gifu countryside was filled with acres green farmland. Rural lights didn't even come close to block the majestic night sky with all the bright stars.

But now it was morning, and the villages have all awoken to start their work on the farm. Some people were the local emergency forces, teachers and convenience store owners were starting the day.

Thomas blue platinum eyes opened when the morning rays struck him. He got up from his Cobra bucket seat pushed down to the back to act as bed. His fiancee Ayoko Tamayochi was sleeping soundly on the bucket passenger seat beside him and woke from the sound Thomas' movement.

"Morning Thomas-kun."

"Morning Ayoko-chan."

"Wanna head out for some fresh air?"

"Sure."

The half-American than got out from his white FC with his fiancee into the open. He has parked his FC on the same hill he watched the stars with Ayoko years ago. That magical night was something even the Drift King wouldn't forget.

They spend the previous night star gazing till the midnight. Thomas wanted to recollect all these memories before going back to work full time in Mazda Corporations.

He stood there, admiring the sun's rising as Ayoko stood beside him and they cuddled together.

"Isn't this beautiful?" Ayoko asked.

"Yup." Was Thomas short reply. "That's one of the list." He stated, crossing out an imaginary goal in his head.

"I've been here so many times and yet I feel nostalgic ever time I see this sun rise through here."

"Here in Max's eye."

"Hmm. I know Thomas." Ayoko said, leaning her head on his shoulder. The couple then proceed to kiss.

"We should head back soon."

"Why? I like it here." Ayoko wailed, the countryside being her home town.

"Remember, I still got one last goal before I leave this life behind."

"Oh," Ayoko continued to stare at the sunrise before deciding. "Then I should get a change of clothes first before we go."

"In the FC?" Thomas asked as the brown haired girl nodded.

"No peaking." She said playfully and went inside his RX-7 to change.

Thomas smiled at the sight before going into business. "What are you doing here Max?" His illusion appeared behind him with features so similar.

"Why, couldn't I see my other self after these years?" His twin said with hands on his jacket pockets.

"Forget what I just said, it's great having to see you again man." Thomas greeted his double. "What brings you out of the statue back in Kobushi?"

"Your final battle man with that Louis guy man." Max claimed as he slowly approach towards the edge of the hill to see the beautiful sunrise. "Your path as a racer is almost ending, it's now time for you to set yourself into a new path though you might not be able to return to the path as racer anymore."

"Are you sure about this?" The question stuck in Thomas' head for a moment before he had an answer to reply to it.

He looked at Max his cooler counterpart. "I battled so many opponents around the world over the years, traveled too so many countries. Sure I'd dearly enjoyed those moments as a racer I really do. Being called the Drift King, getting fame and really living my life."

"But now me and Ayoko are getting married soon. And I promised her to never race this dangerous sport ever again to put my life in danger."

"My next stage of my life starts after my final battle."

"As a Mazda Corporations manager."

"As a better friend to my best buds Asuo, Hiro and Danny who I missed after all traveling around the world for my races."

"And as a great husband to my new wife Ayoko Tamayochi who I'm greatly in love with my entire life."

"This will be my next path."

"Very well," Max soon started to fade like how he did many years before. "Then I guess will meet again someday at another time."

"Sure Max." Thomas smiled.

"Sayonara (Goodbye)."

Max then disappeared into the atmosphere, his spirit went back to his resting place back in Kobushi.

Thomas then took out his smartphone with the intention to call someone.

"Since this is my last battle, I might as well go for a little upgrade." He then placed his smartphone onto his ear.

"Hello, is this Masumoto-san?"
