Chapter 6| Wedding bells.
*Mount Olympus*
|Jason Grace|
I paced back and fourth in my room, biting my lip nervously. Glancing around, everybody seemed relaxed while getting ready. My groomsmen, Nico and Frank chated calmly in one corner of the room, although they seemed a bit uncomfortable about the fact that they had to wear suits. However, Leo, my bestman, was running around yelling how sexy he looked and making sure every men in the room appreciated it, even though most of them just made fun of him.
Piper and I agreed that we both should have two groomsmen and bridemaids in each side, while we also wanted to add a bestman and maid of honour. For the bridesmaid charge she chose Hazel and Calypso, while Annabeth took the place of maid of honour. We knew she wasn't in her best state of mind, but the girl insisted, saying no-one - not even Percy - would prevent her from being there for her best friend. When she said that, Piper almost cryied right then and there, but she restrainedherself.
I rested a hand on my forehead and sighed heavely. Percy. He was another reason that made me want to throw up. I was looking forward at meeting him again. I had missed the guy a lot. He was there the whole time for me, bringing me support. When Leo was presumed dead, Percy wouldn't leave my side, every day coming up with a different thing to cheer me up. He was sad, too, but he was never one to express his feelings. And although I was more connected to Leo than him, I should have supported him, too. I was being selfish and only focusing on my wealth, not even thinking about the others around me.
When Thalia told me he wanted to be here for our wedding, I felt like the happiest man on Earth. My cousin, bro, best friend, however you want to call him, wanted to see me again, even after all I did. Piper was looking forward to it, too. Believe it or not, Piper and Percy's friendship was the strongest on Argo II. After the war, they started to spend more time with each other, and would do idiot things together. Every stunt Percy pulled on someone, Piper would be following right behind and helping the cause, and vice versa. Annabeth and I thought they looked quite immature, but somehow enjoyed seeing them together. It was one of the weirdest friendships I have ever seen, but they were fine by it, and so were we.
I went back to reality when I realised someone was waving their had infront of my eyes. Looking up, I saw no other rather than the son of Apollo. I didn't know Will that much, but he was one of the few cabin counselours that were made immortal. Besides, he was dating Nico, who was like a brother for me. Nico was rarely ever seen, and he wouldn't talk to much with us because of that, but when I asked him to be my groomsman, he was honoured, and a bit confused.
"What's up?", I asked as casually as I could. My nerves could be seen from a mile away, and my trembling legs and sweaty hands weren't helping at all.
"Jason, I know it is a big day. But remember, you are marrying the love of your life! There's no need to be worried. Everything will go fine, Piper and you love each other, there is no doubt about that. Now, get up and tried to comb a bit that hair of yours. It is your wedding, not a club night", Will said, and I nodded in response. I took a few deep breaths to calm myself down, then looked at my reflection in the mirror.
We decided that our wedding would be formal, so most guys would be wearing suits and the girls would wear beautiful dresses. My tuxedo was as simple as it came. I remembered that whenwe first bought it, my friends were debating whether I should wear a tie or bow. In the end, the girls won the argument, saying that bow ties looked awful on men, and that I should wear a tie. I personally didn't mind - they both looked equal to me.
