Chapter 13| You are not alone.

*Buenos Aires, Argentina*

"It's been years since I last saw you, Lish!", Alisha's cousin screamed as she engulfed her cousin in a bear hug. I smiled at the sight of the family reunion.

"I know! I have so many things to tell you", Alisha replied after they separated. "But, introductions come first"

Alisha's cousin turned towards us, a wide smile spread across her face. She had short straight black hair that reached her shoulders, and big brown eyes, almost obsidian. Despite her petite figure, I could imagine how intimidating she could get. She was wearing a black shirt reading 'Feminist' and ripped jeans, along with a pair of white Adidas. She looked to be in her mid-twenties, but if it weren't because we were immortal, we would probably be the same age as her.

"Hey, I am Tati! Nice to meet you all!", she said enthusiastically. I smiled at her and introduced myself. The others followed my example, except for Alisha.

"So, you will be staying with me, huh? Everything comes with a price, little A, and that is information on WHERE THE HELL YOU HAVE BEEN THE PAST TEN YEARS!", she screamed the last part, making us all flinch. Guess I wasn't wrong with the intimidating part.

"You don't live with my uncles anymore?", Alisha asked, and her cousin rested her hands on her hips.

"Well, duh. I moved away like five years ago when I started working as a graphic designer. Not all of us can stay young for the rest of our lives!", she complained.

In case you are wondering, Tati does know about our mythological world. She's one of the few people, like my mother, that can see through the mist, as Alisha explained us. A few days ago, when we were still in South Africa, Alisha called her and asked her if we could stay with her; she agreed almost immediately.

"Anyways, that's not important. Come in! I am sure you are starving", the brunette said, a wide smile spreading across her face.

Katherine was one hell of a cook. The meal was quite simple, but dessert was one of the best thing I have ever tried in my life. Ice cream cake with brownie base, and crushed home-made cookies on top. I don't know if there's a name for that, but it certainly tasted like heaven.

We spent the following hours chatting, getting to know each other. We told Tati about everything that had happened down there and she talked about herself. I found out that we both have lots of things in common and that, if we ever managed to stay for more time, we would develop a brother-sister bond.

After exploring her house settling down in different rooms, we decided to take a look at our surroundings.

Tati's apartment (or penthouse) was located in the downtown. Thanks to the financial incomes her company brought her, the woman was in a respectful position economically. Apparently she lived alone; she used to have a boyfriend named Tomas but they broke up only two weeks ago.

We decided it was better to walk. The streets were full of people, most of who were dressed formally, and it somehow reminded me of New York. The city was smaller than Manhattan, but it gave out a strange cozy environment.

Just a few blocks away, you could make out the large crowd of people holding up big signs and wearing little clothes.

"I have been missing for ten years, and I can see some things haven't changed", Alisha stated, her gaze also fixed in the large crowd. We had decided to stop by a Starbucks after a long hour of walking.
