Chapter 3| Nice seeing you again, Thals.
*The Acropolis Of Athens, Greece*
|Percy Jackson|
"I told you they were here!", I exclaimed as I hid behind a tree and Evie in another. She mouthed a 'sorry' before turning around, looking for the others. Alec and Alisha had ran in a different direction, but I spotted them hiding behind a tree a few steps away from us.
Let me explain what is happening. Today, after going downtown to buy Evie's camera and a few snacks, we made our way towards the Acropolis. Alisha and Evie wanted to visit every single masterpiece, starting by the Parthenon. While Evie took photos, Alisha drew sketches, trying to imitate the monuments. Meanwhile, Alec and I just talked, every now and then glancing around. Even though I had already been here, this place was still beautiful, there's no denying it.
Back to the point. I warned my friends yesterday that the hunters may be camping in the forest, near Artemis's temple. And guess what? They dragged me towards the place, and we came face to face with the hunters! Thank the gods I was wearing hoodie and that I turned around inmediately, otherwise they would have seen my face.
And here we are now, hiding behind some stupid trees, away from the hunters.
It actually pained me when I saw Thalia. She look exactly as she was eight years before, but then again, she is immortal. There were at least sixty hunters or so in the group, but I doubt they are the only ones. Some others may be sitting in the trees, guarding the area.
Lady Artemis, as Alisha had said, was in her eighteen year old form. She was pacing around, talking to each hunter, while Thalia followed close from behind. Both of them had a tense posture, and Thalia was biting her nails furiously while muttering words under her breath.
To be honest, the whole camp looked nervous, which just increased my beliefs of them looking for me. There were a few hunters I recognized, but three quarters of them were completely unfamiliar to me.
I wanted to talk to my cousin so much. She and Nico were the only ones who supported me, and I can't imagine what she went through while I was gone. I remember that when I first met her, our relationship was not good. We would usually compete against each other, trying to prove who was better, but now the only thing I wanted to do was hug her and tell her this past eight years of my life. I wanted her to make fun of me and even beat me in a fight if possible, because I didn't care about losing. I only wanted to be with my cousin.
Evie must have noticed my discomfort because, in the worse subtle way possible, she walked out of her tree and towards me, then pulled me into a hug. I buryed my face in her neck and inhaled her body scent.
"My cousin is there..", I mumbled, and she nodded while resting her chin on my shoulder.
"I know. Thalia, right? I bet she misses you a lot. But, Percy, if you go out there, they will find out. You will be able to talk to her in a matter of months..", she trailed off, but then gasped. I quickly pulled away and looked everywhere, searching for the threat, but when I looked back at my girlfriend, she was grinning widely.
"What? What is it?", I asked incredulously.
"What if you.. change you appearance? You can talk to her, but you don't have to be Percy Jackson. You can pretend to be a normal human, or..", she said and, if possible, her grin spread more. "You can tell her who you are"
"What?! Are you nuts?!", I whisper-yelled. She shrugged.
"You said she was your cousin, AND one of the only people who defended you, so you can trust her, right?", she stated, and I consider my options. Finally, I sighed defeated.
