Chapter 6

Renny's POV

It's another day at the job, dancing and giving everyone a piece of me. Watching me dance that is, as I brush my hair to get ready, I am reminded of my scars on my hands. The scars that tell a story, a story of a little girl fighting every day and trying to survive in the most dangerous places ever, District 40. I don't try and hide them, I like to see them as a reminder of how I fought and how hard I get to be here. Especially the biggest scar that Juliette doesn't even know, she shouldn't know. Not just yet anyway, I was getting ready for my show when I overhear the girls talking, rather loudly.

"Did you heard? Willow was found beaten so bad that she can't move her legs."

"Same with Jewel but she was found without her clothes on and had scars all over her body. It was so bad that they couldn't stopped the bleeding."

"Rocky and Hana found them when they were leaving the club, they said it was so awful."

"It's been happening alot lately, Joanna asked everyone to always carry and leave in groups."

I stopped hearing and continuing getting ready, it was so late but the money is always so good and I need it. I heard Ax start to announced my name and I got ready to dance.

"Are you ready for the lovely Angel Kiss!" I started walking and started dancing, men whistling and cheering me on as I go on.

"Angel I love you! Take it off for for me baby! Let's grab a drink! Angel Kiss!"

I ignore that one John who always calling out to me. I don't mind but I hate how he always wants to touch me whenever I tried to dance or sing. But he's harmless once he pass out when having one too many. But I felt uneasy for some reason but I ignored it. I ended my dance with teasing taking my top off until I fingered no. I walked away and went to get a drink of water when Dolly asked me for. "Hey Renny, someone is asking for your request. And no, it's not your well known fan out there. It's Knight. Maverick Knight and he's asking personality for you."

Maverick Knight personally asked for me? I was about to say no but I thought for a moment, he knows once he comes to Joanna's clubs, he has to pay if he asked for one of the girls. The pay will be worth it. I sighed, "I'm on my way, tell him, would you?"

"Sure."

I got out there and spotted Maverick by the tables and I walked over there, Maverick smiled at me and offered me to sit down, with the music playing and everyone enjoying a good time, I was with Maverick Knight.

"I have a proposal for you, Rebecca. An offer you cannot refuse."

"What kind of an offer?"

"An offer of earning almost two thousand dollars."

"For what exactly? What would you want me to do for what?"

"To change Joseph's mind about having Juliette being Boss one day. I don't believe she has what it takes."

"Like I'm going to do that. I believe Juliette can change the districts into great things. Joseph is in good hands with Juliette when she becomes Boss."

"You don't have any doubts she won't do any good? Think about it."

"I have. Juliette is going to do good. Now excuse me, I have a show in another 10 minutes."

"Shame, the money would do you quite good, get you out of this work and someday get your son Joey back."

The hairs on Renny's back stood up when she heard the name of her son, the son she gave up four years ago. She turned around with Maverick grinning and motion her to sit down. She hesitated it but sat down as Maverick continued.
"Good now the money would be perfect for you and that son of yours."
