Chapter 19: Let's Make a Deal

Yuri's POV:

I gaped at Naomi in disbelief.
"What?" I whisper and she looks down, scuffing her socked foot against the tile floor of the bathroom.
"Wasn't a big deal or anything..." She whispered softly though by her guilty look, I knew it was. I knelt so she could look into my eyes.

"Naomi" all I had to do was say her name and she caved in moments.

"I was sitting on a bench, he approached me, started talking and such and saying things.." she murmured looking saddened and I felt sick to my stomach.
"What did he say?" I demanded knowing just how 'skilled' MC was at being an asshole and spewing bullshit.

"Nothing important." She whispered softly her eyes looking anywhere but at me.
"Naomi please, I need to know what he said to you! Please." I grip her shoulders and look into her eyes once more. Naomi bites her bottom lip, looking uncertain.
"Well-"

"Yuri! Open the door!" Banging followed by Natsuki's angry voice interrupted the poor girl. I gritted my teeth and Naomi hung her head.
"We'll be out later Natsuki!" I snap and there's a scoff behind the door.
"You've been in there for like an hour and a half!!!" She snapped and Naomi and I shared a surprised look.

"I'll tell you later Aunt Yuri... promise." Naomi smiled slightly and I nodded. Naomi, since she was closest to the door, turned and unlocked it pulling it open. To my shock Monika stood next to Natsuki, both had concerned,yet stern expressions.

"Naomi go help mama make dinner please." Monika ordered and Naomi looked at me and mouthed sorry before she scurried off to find her salmon haired mama. The kid looked frightened to disobey...God what had MC said to her?!

"Yuri we need to talk!" Monika explained curtly and firmly. I shouldn't have felt like one of her kids and yet somehow I did.
"Look I'm an adult, if I wanted to jump off a bridge and die I could. Now if you'll both excuse me." I started over to the twins, having pushed past Monika and Natsuki.

The years alone had left me more bold, 19 and under me would have never even thought about saying what I just had.
"Hi auntie Yuri!" Benny greeted me enthusiastically as he bounced in place energetically.
"Is your arm all better auntie Yuri?" Denny asked gently as he smiled at me in concern. I smiled at their concern and kissed both of their heads.

"I'm feeling better little ones, thank you for asking." I praised them kindly and both of them lit up at the praise, a gesture that somehow reminded me of Monika.
"Yuri please we really want to just talk to you." Monika whispered sounding less hostile and more concerned. I turned meeting her deep green eyes, ones she shared with her daughters and I caved.

"Fine." I sighed in defeat and Monika took my hand leading me towards the boys' room.

After shutting the door, she took a seat at the desk and Natsuki was sitting on the toy box, I slowly lowered myself to the bottom bunk bed and waited for them to speak. Monika took a deep breath and I was surprised to hear how shaky it sounded.

"How long have you been cutting again Yuri..." She whispered softly and I frowned. I knew she was thinking about 13 years ago and how they'd found me.
"I haven't been " I lied, well I mean it wasn't technically a lie lie I mean I hadn't been cutting till this morning... so technically I had only been cutting again for about ten hours ago or so...

"Cut the bullshit Yuri!" Natsuki yelled looking so upset. It hurt me to think I'd done that to her. Even after everything all I did was hurt her.
"It's true.." I grumbled and Monika hopped from the desk and crossed the Scooby Doo carpet as she took my hands.
"Yuri please...we don't want you to hurt yourself... It's killing us..." Her eyes were brimming with unshed tears.

"I only relapsed this morning..." I murmured tiredly as I broke from Monika's hands and put my face in them. "I hadn't cut myself in like ten years before today..." I sighed feeling like a failure.
"Yuri how can we help?" Natsuki whispered looking so determined. I shook my head miserably.

"This isn't your problem...either of yours. I'm going to call my therapist...see how soon I can get in...until then I'll just give this to you." I held out my pocket knife to Natsuki who took it instantly without question.

"Hi Mommy, hi auntie Yuri and Natsuki!" Rosie greeted us excitedly as she looked at me intently.
"Did you die Yuri?" Her expression was dead serious and I chuckled softly.
"Afraid not." She puffed out her little cheeks in a huff.

"No laugh at me!!" She cried out loudly and Monika chuckled picking her up. "mommy no laugh!" She pouted and I was grateful for the distraction.

"YURI, MOMMY, NATSUKI! MAMA FAINTED!!!!!"
