Naomi's POV:
I was reading my favorite book on the couch, trying to avoid Lin's eyes on me, but it was super hard. I just wanted to read in peace. My moms had to push aside their heart to heart with me because of how many people were around. Little RJ was helping Natsuki bake cupcakes with Benny and Denny. Rosie was playing blocks with Darby trying to make the one year old her servant. Maree was gushing over everything my mom did, fangirling to put it more accurately. My mama was following after them, obviously getting annoyed or self conscious.
"What are you reading?" She asked softly and I looked up from my book.
"I'm reading the dark's reminder." I muttered as I returned my gaze back to the pages.
"Can we read it together?" She asked leaning closer. I sighed heavily. Be nice mama told you to be nice.
"It's not really for...uh little kids..." I mumble trying to ignore her hot breath on my neck.
"I'm not a little kid, I'm almost eleven!" She whispered bitterly and I closed my book, keeping my finger in between the pages as I looked at her pouting expression.
"I'm sorry... I know what it's like to not be taken seriously, I mean technically I'm only three years older than you." I smiled and her whole face brightened, I reopened my book to get back to reading when she placed her hand on the pages, covering the words.
"We should sneak out to the mall in town!" She whispered smirking devilishly and I frowned.
"Totally would kid, but I'm grounded for like two months..as is..." I muttered trying to shake her hands off my book.
"Aw come on. I thought teenagers were cool." She taunted and I glared at her.
"Kid, even if I wanted to, how exactly are we going to slip out with five adults in the house?" I hiss, wanting someone to interrupt, anyone! But Yuri was helping Natsuki in the kitchen and my mom was talking books with Maree and my mama.
"Please all we have to say is we're going to sit out front and play a game or something." She was grinning excitedly and I sighed. I stood and set my book on the couch.
"Hey Mom we're going to get some fresh air and sit on the porch." I called grabbing my coat and gloves. Please stop us. Please stop us.
"I don't know about that Baby." My mama called out, there was this look in her eyes. But I was just glad we were being stopped. "I'd feel a lot better if you guys played in your room or the attic.." she whispered and I looked to Lin. Her eyes were downcast. All she wanted was to hang out with a teenager...do something reckless.
"We're just gonna sit on the porch mama." I lied with a grin and she looked back at mom. Okay this was as far as I was going to fight this. If mom said no then the plan was over.
"You can sit outside for twenty minutes, then I want you inside alright?" She gave us the ultimatum and we both nodded.
"Let's go go!" Lin started running down the driveway I followed after her quickly. This was gonna be a mistake.
"I'm so gonna regret this." I grumbled as I followed after the ten year old my stomach in knots.
                                ..... ..... ..... .... .. . .... .... ..... .... ...
Monika frowned, maybe Naomi just lost track of time. She smirked to herself, her daughter did not look happy to be hanging out with a ten year old. She chuckled opening the door.
   "Hey Monika."
   "Get off my porch."
"I would but I was just wondering where Naomi is?"
