I sat in the cold room. I spent most nights just sitting next to him.

It's was so cold that night. My breaths clouded out like dragons flame before me. The gentle sounds of the castle Coaxed me into sleep.

I wanted, I need to stay awake because what...what if...what if....if. I drifted away.

Lance stood in a field of soft purple grass

Lance stood in a field of soft purple grass. The smell of lavender made my head spin like a top.

His back was to me and he hands plucked purple strands of flowers. I didn't want to speak, I almost couldn't, I wanted it to stay silent with nothing but lazy wind blowing Lances hair and the grass in a unison wave.

I dreamily strode up next to Lance, we didn't look at each other or speak but we simply walked.

A small reflective pond was tucked away in the purple.

Lance crouched down next to the water. He took a piece of bark and gently arranged the lavender atop it.

His boat cast ripple in the mirrored water as he let the bark drift out of his hand. He sat in the grass and watched it glide to the middle.

"I came here every day whilst I was asleep" Lance voice broke the peaceful air. His fixed his nostalgic ocean blue eyes on me. "It was like and escape but it didn't work." He drew his eyes away from me and longing gazed out into the skies.

"I still couldn't escape my feelings for you" he hummed.

My heart beat rose from its steady gate anda colourful array of butterflies danced in my stomach.

"It's sad Lance" I replied. My full attention on him. I tried to memorise all his features. I wanted to count every freckle on his cheeks and remember the exact colour of his eyes.

"It's sad that it took you leaving for me to find out mine for you."

I didn't feel sad saying it. It was a truth that I couldn't just train away. Lance turned and looked directly in to my eyes.

"I haven't left yet"

His words echoed in the field and moved the grass like the wind. I leaned over and planed my hand in his. I kissed the back of his hand and turned it over to see the scars. I kissed every scar in a gently way of asking for forgiveness.

"I think I'm ready to wake up now" Lance whispered.

I shuddered up on the hard floor. My dream it was so real, it had to be real. I stood up and turned to look at Lance in the healing pod.

My heart rattled to a stop for a second as I doubted myself. What if it was a dream, what if his isn't coming back, what if he doesn't love you.

"Lance" I whispered. I put my head to the glass and closed my eyes.

A small gasp made me jump out of my skin. I fell back upon the ground and gazed in sheer joy as Lances eyes fluttered open.

I knew which colour they were now. they're Azure blue with under tones of ocean.

The pod opened up and he fell out right into my arms. "I woke up" his whispered into my ear.

I'm a total cry baby but I wept like a wounded mother. I couldn't stop crying even when Lance told me he was fine I just couldn't let go of him. The emotions I have been trying to hold back for the past forever came in like the tide.

I the other paladins found us crying on the floor together. I felt better after they wept like babies two. Shiro was happy he started dancing.

I haven't ever been happier. Lance was allowed to move into my room and I officially asked him to be my boyfriend a week later.

Sometimes Lance still wakes up late at night and cries his heart out to me. I tell him good things. I kiss his scarred wrists and tell him that I will never let anyone hurt him.

And it was about five years later after we made it back to earth that I proposed.

Now Lance is my Fiancé and we have taken a long break from space. And I can't help but say it that looking back on those times makes me remember why I can't help but love my Lance.

I love my Lance.

I love my Lance
