The next morning I woke to the sun glaring into my eyes. I groaned and sat up drowsily before remembering what today was.
"Oh my God!" I jumped out of bed and grabbed my phone.
{T minus 4 hours! ~Sadie}. I fired off the text, showered, and dressed quickly. When I checked my phone there was a reply. {Don't get your hopes up so much. SH}. I sighed and put it in my back pocket before going into my mother's room.
"Mum". She stirred and groaned. "Mm? Yeah? Sadie it's early."
"Mum you have to get ready."
"For?"
I smirked at her.
"Ohhh..." Her face flushed a soft pink and she got out of bed.
"Hon, I really don't think he'll-" I cut her off before she could finish her sentence.
"Give it a chance Mum. He was pretty..okay, the other day."
She mumbles something about this never working and I sigh. She dresses in a nice red and black dress and puts on black heels. "Your father is not interested in me anymore. Why should I have to go through all the effort to-"
"Because you want to. Because you still love him, Mum. C'mon, let's curl your hair.."
"Sadie I-"
"Mummmm"
"Fine fine. But I'm doing this for you."
"Yes I know" I rolled my eyes.
~Three hours later~
We arrive on the landing of "The Diogenes Club". Damn his place is a mansion...
I look at mum and she is visibly nervous.
"It'll be okay mum.." I'm not sure why I did, but I have her hand a small squeeze of encouragement. She smiled at me and knocked, suddenly terrified again. A middle-aged man, most likely a butler sort, answered.
"Hey, Wilder. Remember me? Course you do" I say as I push my way into my father's mansion. Wilder gives me a very disapproving look and I smirk, escorting my mother in. I'm pretty sure that guy probably got his first hard-on in decades right then. I chuckled to myself and linked my arms with my mother. When I see Anthea, my father's P.A, I smile sweetly.
"Hello, Anthea. I came to have another visit with my father."
"Do you have an appointment?"
"Uh no, I don't need one I'm his kid. Duh. Plus I have someone that he will WANT to see."
She sighs and hesitates, then lets us through, her wavering gaze on mum.
I stop at the door to Mycroft's office and look at mother. She's nearly shaking the poor thing. Just this once, I SUPPOSE I can swallow my pride. I wrap my arms around her comfortingly.
"It'll be okay. If he's too mean I'll take you away. Ok? You'll be fine, mum."
As she opens her mouth to reply, the door clicks open and my dad stands there as cold as stone. I swear if I hadn't known him to move he'd look like a statue. His eyes immediately locked onto Mum's and I could've sworn I saw a weakness.
I broke their gaze impatiently.
"Dad...Mum...I'm...guessing you know that though..." I trailed off as neither made a move to look away. I slowly slinked away from between them, feeling like a kid between larger parents. Wow, I knew there was something there, I mean hey they had me. But I never could've possibly imagined just how big my dad's weak spot was until I saw him tear up.
