I'ts not long but I wanted to update so don't laugh at me ; , ).No artistic gif or elegant photo today. Just some good old fashioned musings. If you do not read this story with the attached song you're not reading it correctly. It's inspired by it and that's the only way I accept you to enjoy it.
My own writing doesn't usually 'move' me. But is listened to the song on repeat as i wrote and I almost, almost cried. I know I sound really narcissistic but leave me alone okay It's 3:08 am and I still have actual work to do.
Also we hit 50K reads. Thanks for being my shining stars <3
"What a beautiful thing it is that we even exist. How beautiful this universe is. How vast, mysterious, and endless that it is. Humanity is the infinite and most rare creation of all."

"Mama?" Her voice whispered, ripping through the night like a knife and hindering you from shutting the door to carry on for the night. It was a stall tactic, a way for her to squeeze what little time she could to stay awake after her bed-time. You knew this. You always knew this. Yet you allowed it, ignoring the obvious and answering her every time. You were the only one able to indulge her cunning, so you did with a sigh and the opening of the door.
Her room came to life the moment you opened the door further. Little spheres of light danced around giving it an ethereal glow, and a patient smile crossed your lips as it displayed off of her face. Her eyes were wide, as deep and flourishing as they could be. It was selfish but sometimes it ached to look at her in such instances when all you saw was him.
"Yes, Ami?" You whispered back, keeping your distance for your own reasons in order to have a speedy exit. You focused on her solely, ignoring the overwhelming presence you told yourself wasn't there. Only for her to remind you every second she could.
"May I have a story?" She answered, a little grin pulling of her lips as her ghostly pale hand beckoned you closer. Tiny in every way imaginable, and somehow it never ceased to amaze you how small she truly was. Regardless if you held her hand and hugged her tightly every chance you got.
"Ami..." you warned, a sterner look gracing your features only for her smile to widen at your expression.
"One about papa," she demanded, giving you an award-winning smile and a proud look as she knew you wouldn't refuse. You hated this, hated reliving every memory and moment you had shared with him. It was a torture, remembering something you would never have again. Even now it hurt, dragging your weary body to her, summoning power you knew you didn't have anymore.
"I've told you all the stories I have," You remarked, sitting in the wooden chair designated for you by her bed. The lights drew closer, only testing how committed you were to concentrating on her and her alone.
"Papa says you haven't," She quipped immediately, sinking back down in the Disney themed sheets and staring upwards as the green circles waited for your compliance. You winced at her answer, masking the crippling sensation you felt with an empty gaze. His last bit of life was in her, tied to her, laced with her. It wasn't much, it was only a test of time until the magic and the essence he had tied to the bracelet would disappear. In fact, it would be erased soon. Any evidence that he was ever on this plane of existence would be gone in a matter of days if not hours.
You hadn't realized he had known he was going to die. That he anticipated it. That he marched to his death without acknowledging he would never come home. You should have known when his words seemed so final and you should have felt it when his lips had tasted like a goodbye. Maybe denial was the only thing you were good at.
