"Consider this a warning. First, a real Phantom Troupe tattoo has the member's number on the spider. Second, they don't bother counting how many they've killed. Third, never mention the Troupe again. If you do, I will kill you with my bare hands." Said Kurapika. Leorio has volunteered for the fourth round. If he wins, the group's victory is assured. But can he win?
"Okay! I'll finish up the job. Toss that guy out, and send in your next competitor!" Said Leorio. The hooded girl laughed. "We can't do that." Said the hooded girl. "What's that?" Said Leorio. "We can't move him yet, because his match hasn't been settled." Explained the hooded girl. "The match hasn't been settled? What do you mean?" Asked Leorio. The hooded girl walked up to Majtani. "He's still alive. He was only knocked out. Did you forget? This was a death match. The fight doesn't end until one contestant surrenders or dies, he's still alive, and he hasn't surrendered." Explained the hooded girl. The hooded girl then suddenly laughed. "Tsk...damned technicalities!" Said Leorio. "But she's right." Said Killua. "I agree." Said Wendy. "I see. Hey, Kurapika! Go finish off that worthless trash." Said Leorio. "I refuse." Said Kurapika. "Huh? Why?!" Asked Leorio. "The fight is over. He'd already lost his will to fight when I punched him. I will not fight someone who's lost." Said Kurapika. "Screw that! Then what do we do? They're claiming that the match hasn't ended!" Said Leorio. "Let him handle it." Said Kurapika. "Huh?" Said Leorio. "Once he wakes up, we'll have our answer." Said Kurapika. "Hey, now...we only have so much time left. We can't afford to just sit and wait!" Said Leorio. "I have no intention of killing him!" Said Kurapika. "Come on!" Said Leorio. Hey. I can kill him if you don't want to." Said Killua. "Killua?" Said Wendy. "You haven't killed anyone have you.Are you scared?" Asked Killua. "I have never considered whether murder is frightening. But this is one-on-one battle. You aren't permitted to interfere." Said Kurapika. "Fine I won't argue. Except if you were a team player, you wouldn't be acting so selfish." Said Killua. "Oh! You do say useful things sometimes! Keep it up! Don't you understand that you're screwing up our chances?" Said Leorio. "I'm sorry, but I won't change my mind." Said Leorio. "You stubborn fool. Fine! A majority decision! O to kill him, and X to leave him alive." Said Leorio. Leorio presses the O button. Nothing happens. "Why in the hell isn't it working!" Yelled Leorio. "I bet it's cause we're the ones asking the question." Said Wendy. "Huh?" Asked Leorio. "It looks like the timers only work for questions the examiners ask." Explained Killua. "I shoulda known. In that case, okay! We'll do it the old-fashioned way. Raise your hand if you think we should finish him! Me!" Said Leorio. Leorio gasps. No one raises their hands except Leorio. "Whose side are you on? A minute ago, you were trying to get him to do it just like I was! We're in this together! Where's your team spirit?" Said Leorio. "I just don't see the point. Not like he's gonna change his mind." Said Killua. "Hey, Wendy, why don't you think we should kill the guy?" Asked Leorio. "I'm with Kurapika on this one. He was just about to surrender when he knocked him out. We should wait for him to wake up." Said Wendy. "But there's no telling how long that'll take. I ought to just do it." Said Leorio. "It's better if you don't force the issue. You can't expect everybody to share the same opinion." Said Tonpa. "Yeah, well, nobody asked for yours, okay?" Said Leorio. "Hey, come on. If you wanted to put it to a vote, you kind of did." Said Tonpa. "Fine! If you wanna wait, then wait. Just see if I care!" Said Leorio. "Leorio, wait!" Said Wendy. Leorio mutters. "What is wrong with these people?" "Ah,he's sulking." Said Wendy. "None of this matters if we get stuck here. Am I the only one who gets it?" Said Leorio. "Let's just leave him alone." Said Killua. Tonpa thought. "Fools. He's totally falling for it, the trap of majority rule. When five people who barley know each other are trying to decide on something, you'd think voting would be the easiest and most efficient way to do it. People tend to think that voting empowers the individual, but the truth is it can just as easily turn the majority against the minority. When someone keeps finding himself in the minority, his opinion is always rejected. His anger, alienation, and frustration make him resent and antagonize the group. Eventually, it tears the team apart. After all, it's everyone for himself or herself in the Hunter Exam. The feeling you get when you're forced to follow a path that other people set can be real pain. It's annoying and makes you feel foolish. But now he's all caught up in the whole majority-rule scenario, and he's starting to use it even when he doesn't have to. And then he made the mistake of discussing the options before he called for the vote. He even asked for a show of hands, majority rule in its worst form." "The atmosphere on the other side is pretty grim." Said Bora. The hooded women giggles.
Everything is quite and no one has made a move on the prisoners. Wendy just stares at the unconscious Majtani. Killua notices and goes up to Wendy. "What's up, Wendy? Is something wrong?" Asked Killua. "Yeah." Said Wendy. Wendy points to the unconscious Majtani. Then Killua suddenly realizes something. "Oh,I see.
Time skip:
"Okay, it's your turn. What would you like to bet on next?" Asked the hooded women. "Let me see. I say we bet on whether or not he's actually unconscious." Said Leorio. "Huh?" Said the hooded women. "Oh, I get it." Said Killua. Majtani stats to think. "Wait. What?! This wasn't on the note. What am I supposed to do now? All I had to do was stay down until the clock ran out, and we'd get 72 years off our sentences. But now what? Do I stay down and keep pretending?" "All right. I'll bet 20 hours that he really is out cold." Said the hooded women. Majtani starts to think again. "Okay, I got it. That's the play, then. I'll just keep acting like I'm unconscious." "The question is how do you propose we go about confirming this?" Asked the hooded women. "Oh. It's simple, really. Heavy bastard." Said Leorio. Leorio starts heading towards the edge of the arena. "I figured I would just push him off the edge." Said Leorio. "That's the worst idea I've ever heard!" Thought Majtani. "If he really is unconscious, he'll fall to his death, and that's the end of it." Said Leorio. "Are you insane? His match hasn't been decided yet. There's no way I can accept those terms." Said the hooded women. "Don't worry. If he falls and kicks the bucket, we'll forfeit the match, giving you a grand total of two wins. That work for you?" Said Leorio. "It does. Very well, then." Said the hooded women. "What was that?! Come on! Don't be ridiculous! We're talking about my life here!" Thought Majtani. "I'm that case, I'm changing my bet. I bet 40 hours that he isn't unconscious after all. That's everything I have left." Said the hooded women. Leorio chuckles. "Little sneak. Finally showing your true colors." Said Leorio. There is a long pause. "Guess I'll let go, then." Said Leorio. Leorio let's go of  Majtani's shoulder. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold on! Don't let go! I'm awake! I'm awake! Wait! Wait! I'm gonna fall!" Said Majtani. Leorio grabs Majtani's hand. "Good morning." Said Leorio. Leorio pulls in Majtani. Majtani gasps. "You're both complete lunatics! I've had enough! I lost plain and simple, okay? Forget reducing my sentence! I'm going back to prison, where it's safe, Damn it!" Said Majtani. "You knee he was awake, didn't you?" Said the hooded women. "Believe it or not, but I'm pre-med.The way his eyes we're moving was a dead giveaway." Explained Leorio. "Even so, you have only 20 hours remaining." Said the hooded women. "I know, but at least now we're in a better position with a two-one lead." Said Leorio. 2 points for Wendy's team and one point for the prisoners. "Now. Let's keep this ball rolling. The choice is yours, so what's it gonna be?" Said Leorio.
Majtani throws in the towel, giving Wendy and her friends a two-to-one lead. However, in the match where they gamble for time, they're down to 80 to 20. It's Leroute's turn to pick the next bet, but what will she choose?
