In the five-on-five battle with the prisoners, Wendy and her friends lead 2-1. They're one win away from victory. The fourth round is a series of wagers, with time as the stakes. What will they bet on next?
Leroute takes off her handcuffs and revealed herself. She had pink hair with a yellow bow, pink skin, and lavender eyes. Leorio starts blushing really hard and starts to chuckle. "That old guy's probably dancing on the inside." Said Killua. "I have a bad feeling about this." Said Kurapika. "Then let's bet on whether I'm a man or a women." Said Leroute. "Huh?" Said Leorio. "What's wrong? Is there a problem?" Asked Leroute. "N-No." Said Leorio. "She's obviously a women. Or could she be a tranny? No, she's gotta be a women." Thought Leorio. "That's fine, but how will you prove I'm wrong?" Asked Leorio. "Oh, right. I'll let you examine every part of my body. Until you're fully satisfied." Said Leroute. "Seriously? Her body?" Thought Leorio. Leorio starts to look down to Leroute's breasts and blushes. "Leorio will bet she's a man." Said Kurapika. "Uh-huh." Said Killua. "Huh? Why?" Asked Wendy. "Okay, I've decided. I bet ten hours that you're a man!" Said Leorio stupidly. Leroute pulled on a smirk. "I knew it." Said Kurapika. "Dirty old man." Said Killua. "Huh? But how did you know?" Asked Wendy innocently. "This way, even if I'm wrong, and it turns out she's female, I'll still get to examine her body! It's a win-win situation. Actually, please be wrong." Thought Leorio. "There you have it." Said Killua. "I get it now." Said Wendy. "Okay! Reveal the answer." Said Leorio. "Too bad... I'm a women." Said Leroute. "R-Really?" Said Leorio. "Would you like to check?" Asked Leroute. "Well don't mind if I do!" Said Leorio while putting his hand on Leroute's chest. Leorio was in heaven. "I regret nothing." Said Leorio while smiling. Leorio's group was disappointed. "Just watching hurts." Said Kurapika. "He's gonna lose." Said Tonpa. "Huh?" Said Wendy. "The opponent has seen through Leorio's strategy. He's been betting conservatively, to minimize damage from either outcome. A gambler who focuses on avoiding a loss won't ever win. I guess Leorio just doesn't have what it takes." Explained Tonpa. "As expected. His approach to gambling doesn't frighten me at all. He'll never beat me that way." Thought Leroute. Leroute smirked. "Now it's your turn to think of a gamble. What do you want to bet on?" Asked Leroute. Leorio snapped out of his imagination. "This is no time to celebrate. I only have ten hours left." Thought Leorio. "Leorio has no more room to error. If he loses the next wager, the overall score will be 2-2. And we will have fifty fewer hours to escape this tower." Said Kurapika. "Leorio." Said Wendy. "I can't lose the next bet, but I can't think of anything that'd be a surefire win. Oh, that's it! We can bet on whether I'm a man or a women. No, that wouldn't work." Said Leorio. "Hey, old
man. You're thinking aloud." Said Killua. "I know.Leorio!" Said Wendy. "Huh?" Said Leorio. "How about whether or not you're still in your teens?" Said Wendy. "Come on, Wendy! I don't look that old. I'm clearly a teenager!" Said Leorio. Leroute could not believe what Leorio has just said. "T-Teenager? But he looks like an old man." Said Thought Leroute. "Right! In that case, we'll use rock-paper-scissors! A bet on who'll win a game of roc-paper-scissors!" Said Leorio. Leroute chuckled. "Sure." Said Leroute. "Rock-paper-scissors? Why did he have to pick such a difficult wager?" Said Kurapika. "Huh? Rock-paper-scissors is hard?" Asked Wendy. "I happen to be quite confident that in my rock-paper-scissors skill. Just recently, I won a vacation in a tournament in the shopping district." Thought Leorio. "Let's see, then. I'll put eighty hours on my victory." Said Leroute. "E-Eighty hours?" Said Leorio. "Is something wrong? I'm free to bet as much as I want." Said Leroute. "W-Well, that's true." Said Leorio. "And if you lose, I can still only take ten from you. Don't worry." Said Leroute. "She doesn't need to bet eighty. Ten would suffice. What I f she loses? Or is she that confident?" Thought Leorio. "As anticipated, he's starting to stress. He's so easy to read." Thought Leroute. "While rock-paper-scissors has simple rules, the game its self is quite complex. If you consider the game from a probability standpoint, there's only a one-third chance of losing. However, if your opponent can predict your reasoning and control your reactions, defeat becomes much more likely." Explained Kurapika. "In other words, simple-minded Leorio will be at a disadvantage." Said Killua. "I see." Said Wendy. "All right! I've made my decision." Said Leorio. Leroute walked up to Leorio and giggled. "What?" Said Leorio. "It's obvious what you'll use. I can read minds." Said Leroute. "Liar! Your bluffing won't scare me!" Said Leorio. "You'll believe me soon enough." Said Leroute. Leorio started to get irritated. Leroute giggles. "As planned, he's losing his cool over a blatant lie." Thought Leroute. "She can read minds? She's lying. She must be lying. But what if she's telling the truth?" Thought Leorio. "Leorio will use rock." Said Kurapika. "Huh?" Said Wendy. "Lets do this!" Said Leroute. Leorio starts to panic. "Rock...paper...Scissors!" Chanted Leroute. Leroute uses rock and Leorio uses rock. Leorio is relived and starts to calm down. "You were right. Good guess." Said Wendy. "Nervous people unconsciously avoid any action that involves opening up. In other words, by making Leorio uncomfortable, she ensures that he's less likely to use paper." Said Kurapika. "So if she sticks with rock, she's guaranteed a win or draw." Said Killua. As I was explaining, rock-paper-scissors is actually a mind game." Said Kurapika. "Now I see." Said Wendy. Leorio realizes something. "Hold on. Since we both used rock, wasn't that a draw?" Asked Leorio. "What of it?" Said Leroute. "A-ha! So you were lying about being able to read my mind! If you really could, you'd have won. Right?" Said Leorio. Leroute giggles. "What's so funny?" Said Leorio. "I deliberately gave you that tie." Said Leroute. "Quit lying!" Said Leorio angrily. "Did you forget? We're trying to stall you here. If I chose to, I could force an indefinite series of draws. But that wouldn't be any fun. So I'll end this with the next turn. Well? What will you use next? Think hard." Said Leroute. Leroute giggled. "Damn!" Said Leorio. "That's it. Worry. Fret." Thought Leroute. "Worrying. Fretting. When someone loses confidence, they crave reassurance. That makes him more likely to either use the same hand, or, in an effort to regain his confidence, to use a stronger one than in the previous round." Explained Kurapika. "Meaning that she wants Leorio to choose either rock or paper." Said Killua. "Yes. If she uses paper, she's certain not to lose." Explained Kurapika. "Then Leorio just needs to stay a step ahead!" Said Wendy. "Well, if he could calm down, that might work." Said Kurapika. Leorio starts to panic. "Leorio!" Yelled Wendy. "What is it?" Asked Leorio. "Hey, you'll win if you go with scissors next!" Answered Wendy. "What? Scissors?" Said Leorio. Leroute giggles. "Go ahead and try." Said Leroute. "Then she'll just use rock. No she'll go a step further and choose paper. Wait, then she'll take another step and use scissors. No, no, then she'll take another step and use rock." Thoughts Leorio. "Man, I have no idea what to think!" Yelled Leorio. "Here we go!" Said Leroute. Leorio doesn't know what to do and panics. "Here...comes the...draw!" Said Leroute. Leroute uses paper and Leorio...uses...rock. Leroute starts to laugh. "I win!" Said Leroute. "Ohohohohoho!" Said Leroute happily. "Rock-paper-scissors really is complicated." Said Wendy. "Now the score is 2-2." Said Killua. "Worse yet, we have to give up the fifty hours he lost." Said Kurapika. Leorio walks up to his team. "Sorry, I was pretty confident in my rock-paper-scissors ability." Said Leorio. "Pretty pathetic showing, then" Said Tonpa. "What was that?! Well, I can't argue with you on this one." Said Leorio. Leroute walks up to her team and looks at the camera. "Say, how much time do they have left now?" Asked Leroute. "Fifty-nine hours, forty-five minutes." Said Lippo. "It doesn't matter how much time they have." Said the hooded man. Everyone looks at the hooded man. "Because my opponent will die." Said the hooded man.
"It's finally time for the last round." Said Kurapika. "Guess I'm off." Said Killua. Leorio looks at killua and does a weird stance. "What? Killua?" Said Leorio. "What's that supposed to mean?" Asked Killua. "Damn this sucks. I really needed to win my round. It's all my fault." Said Leorio. "Wendy...your buddy here is pissing me off!" Said Killua angrily. "Summer down." Said Wendy. "Don't give up before we even know what the contest is. Well, if its something like mental math, I'm surrendering." Said Killua mumbling. "That's right! Depending on the opponent, we still have a chance!" Said Leorio. "That little kid is their last member. Never thought I'd see him fall prey to that monster." Said the orange man. "Poor thing. He's still so young." Said Leroute. "I didn't want to use him. However, the Hunter Exam has no mercy. If he dies here, that's fate. I'm removing his handcuffs." Said Lippo. The hooded man stands up and his handcuffs are removed. "You guys are getting too scared." Said Majtani. "Idiot, stop!" Said the orange man. Majtani walks up to the hooded man. "Is he really that terrifying? Isn't it all just ancient history-Before Majtani could speak the hooded man grabs Majtani's face and pushes it against the stone wall. The hooded man grabs the stone wall with his bare hands and slide it across. The hooded man takes off his hood and reveals himself. The hooded man had blond messy hair, a mustache, blue cold eyes, and was really buff. Leorio realizes who he was. "That guy." Said Leorio. "You know him?" Asked Wendy. "We should take the loss. Killua! Don't fight him." Said Leorio. "Why not?" Asked Killua. "Johness the Dissector. The worst mass murderer in Zaban's history. He chose his victims randomly. It was a famous case. 146 people, young and old, men and women, met with brutal deaths by his hands. The victims had one thing in common. He murdered all of them with his bare hands. He was known for his iron grip, the power in his fingers." Said Leorio. Johness crushed the part of the wall with his bare hands. "It's been ages since I touched human flesh." Said Johness. "You don't have to face that psychotic killer. There's always next year." Said Leorio. Killua walks forward. "Hey, Killua. Killua! Damn it, was he even listening to me?!" Said Leorio. "Let him go, Leorio. He could have a plan." Said Kurapika. "How do you wanna do this?" Asked Killua. "Do this? You have the wrong idea. This will be a one-sided massacre. I have no interest in the exam or any offer of amnesty. I just want to hear you scream." Said Johness. "Really? Fine. We'll keep fighting until one of us dies." Said Killua. Johness was surprised. "Yeah, that's right. I'll tear your body apart." Said Johness. Killua was ready, but before Johness could even reach Killua, Killua went through Johness. Johness couldn't move. There was a hole in Johness's chest. "Wh-What? I'm so cold." Said Johness. Killua has something in his hand. Killua pulled it out and it was Johness's beating heart. "That's...mine." Said Johness. Johness starts to walk up to Killua to get his heart. Killua has an evil look on his face and was smiling. "G-Give it back." Said Johness. Suddenly Johness's heart stops. Johness could only take his last breaths. Johness falls to the ground with his hand up. Killua gives back Johness's heart back and Johness was dead. Three points to Wendy's team. "So, that's three wins for us, we move on right?" Said Killua. "Yeah, you win." Said the orange man. "By the way, you must be itching for some action, since you didn't get to fight. How about it, want to take me on?" Asked Killua. "Thanks but no thanks." Said the orange man. "Suit yourself." Said Killua. Killua turns around and starts walking to his team. "Who is he?" Asked Leorio. "That's right. You guys don't know." Said Wendy. "Huh? Don't know what?" Asked Leorio. "Killua comes from an elite family of assassins." Said Wendy. "Eh? A-An elite family of assassins?" Said Leorio. "I'm back." Said Killua. Leorio jumps. "What?" Said Killua. "Uh... well, good work!" Said Leorio. The door slides open on one of the walls. "Across the bridge, you'll find a small room. You must spend the fifty hours you gambled away there." Said Lippo. "Well, lets go." Said Killua. "Yeah." Said Wendy. "R-Right." Said Leorio. Wendy, Killua, Kurapika, Leorio, and Tonpa had entered the room and there was a timer for 50 hours. "Good grief. We have to spend fifty hours in this room?" Said Leorio. Kurapika looks at Killua. "Killua." Said Kurapika. "Huh?" Said Killua. "Can you tell me how that technique works?" Asked Kurapika. "What do you mean technique?" Asked Killua. "The one you used to instantly remove his heart." Said Kurapika. "Oh, that one. Well it wasn't a technique really. I just ripped it out." Said Killua. "Ripped it out?" Said Kurapika. "To be honest, I did manipulate my body some. Made it a lot easier." Said Killua. Killua's hands become an animals like nails. "Y-Your nails." Said Leorio. Killua put away his sharp nails."Mass murderers are still only amateurs. I used to be a professional. But my old man would've done better. When he removes a heart, you won't see even a drop of blood." Said Killua. "How reassuring." Said Leorio. "As long as he's on our side." Thought Kurapika. "Alright, then. We have more than two whole days." Said Killua. "What should we do, Killua?" Asked Wendy. "Gotta do something. First, let's search the room to see if there is anything to play with." Said Killua. "Yeah!" Said Wendy. "Man, you kids don't have a care in the world." Said Leorio. Killua and Wendy turned on the tv so they could play video games together.
Wendy's team of five has passed the trial, with three wins and two losses. However, they must spend the fifty-hour penalty in this small room. They're running out of time.
