Wendy becomes a hunter

Hit The Target

The twenty-four applicants who have passed the exam's Third Phase exit Trick Tower, one by one, for a long-awaited breath of fresh air. "Ladies and gentlemen, congratulations on having escaped Trick Tower. Only the Fourth Phase and the Final Phase remain. The Fourth Phase will take place over there, on Zevil Island. Let us proceed." Said Lippo. Lippo raises up his arm and snapped his fingers. A man brought up a tray and an open box to Lippo. "I will need you to draw lots." Said Lippo. Everyone was confused. "Lots?" Questioned Geretta. "For what?" Asked Pokkle. "To determine who will hunt and who will be hunted. In here are twenty-four numbered cards. In other words, your ID numbers are on the cards. Now, I need you each to draw a card, in the order by which you excited the tower. Will the first person come forward?" Said Lippo. Hisoka stepped forward. A girl was dressed up in a bunny suit who was called Azre stepped forward. "Guess I'm next." Said Hanzo. Next Geretta stepped forward. "I'm next." Said Pokkle. After other applicants got there card it was Kurapika who was next. "Hey, Killua." Said Wendy. "Huh?" Said Killua. "He said something about hunting and being hunted. Does that mean we'll be fighting each other?" Asked Wendy. "Yeah, probably does." Said Killua while whistling. Killua walked up and got his card. Next was Wendy. She got her card and walked back. Next was Leorio. "I don't know what this is all about, but I know you need to draw it like you mean it." Said Leorio. And lastly was Tonpa. "Everyone's taken a card? Then, remove the seal from your card." Said Lippo. Everyone took off the seal on the card. Lippo smirked. "The card indicates your target." Said Lippo. Everyone gasped and hid there number badge. Wendy looked at her card. Her target was...#44. Wendy couldn't believe what she saw. "This box has recorded which card each of you drew. This means that you're free to dispose of the cards if you wish. The objective is to steal your target's ID tag. Naturally, you're free to use any method you choose to steal the ID tags. Including killing your target and taking the tag off the corpse." Explained Lippo. Lippo raises his arm up. "Listen carefully!" Your target's ID tag is worth three points. Your own ID is also worth three points. All other ID tags are worth one point. You need six points to advance to the Final Phase. So while on Zevil Island, you must gather enough ID tags to total six points. That is the condition for clearing the Hunter Exam's Fourth Phase." Said Lippo. "Yeah, everyone's removed their ID tags, and hid them." Said Leorio. "Well, you're free to do as you like, for the next two hours. Please enjoy the boat ride." Said Khara. Everything was quite. Leorio looked at Kurapika. "Speaking hypothetically... if you happened to be my target, I wouldn't show any mercy." Said Leorio. "Naturally. If you happened to be my target, I would say the same." Said Kurapika. Leorio started to panic. "Am I your target?!" Asked Leorio. Kurapika chuckled. "I was speaking hypothetically." Said Kurapika. "Oh, right." Said Leorio. Kurapika chuckled. "Don't worry. You are not my target." Said Kurapika. "I-I see." Said Leorio nervously. Kurapika walked away. "Oh, and you aren't my target!" Said Leorio. Meanwhile by the edge of the boat. "Hey." Said Killua. Killua sat next to Wendy. The air was awkward. Wendy and Killua did not speak to each other. "So... uh... what number did you get!" Asked Killua. "What did you draw?" Asked Wendy. "It's a secret." Said Killua. It was quite again. Killua and Wendy both laughed together. "Don't worry about it. Your not my target Wendy. I promise." Said Killua. "That's good cause your not mine either." Said Wendy. Killua thought for a moment. "You wanna show our numbers at the same time?" Asked Killua. "Okay!" Said Wendy. "Ready and..." Said both Killua and Wendy and showed there number's at the same time. Wendy had #44 and Killua had #199. Killua was surprised. "#44 is... really. You got seriously bad luck." Said Killua. "You think so?" Said Wendy. "So... who's #199?" Asked Wendy. "I'm not sure I thought maybe you knew." Said Killua. "No, sorry." Said Wendy. "I didn't bother to memorize everyone's numbers. After the initial explanation, I started checking tags, but everyone had already removed them. That's so lame..." Killua couldn't finish his sentence because he saw Wendy shaking in fear. "Wendy." Said Killua. "Huh? What?" Said Wendy. "Are you happy or scared right now which one is it?" Asked Killua. Wendy thought for a moment. "Well I'm scared right now. I know that I'm always scared, but this is a different kind of scared. I never met anyone like Hisoka and he scares me the most, but my mom once told me that fear isn't evil, it only allows us to learn our own weaknesses. When we learn our weakness, people can grow stronger and kinder." Said Wendy. "But I don't think I can beat Hisoka in a one-on-one fight. But I only need to steal his badge, so I don't think it will be that hard. It will be in and out." Said Wendy. "Yeah." Said Killua. "Right now. I might actually have a chance. That's the part the scares me the most. If I get caught it's game over. But I think it's worth it." Said Wendy. "I gotcha." Said Killua. Killua got up and got his skateboard. "Well, let's do our best. Don't die, kay." Said Killua. "Yeah, same to you." Said Wendy. Wendy gave Killua a thumbs up. Meanwhile the boat has reached Zevil Island. "Thanks for your patience, everyone. We've finally arrived at Zevil Island! Now, please disembark in the order by which you cleared the Third Phase." Said Khara. "Tsk. This again." Said Leorio. "After each person disembarks, we'll wait two minutes before the next person's turn." Said Khara. "That means we'll be waiting here a while." Said Killua. "Yeah." Said Wendy. "You will stay on this island for exactly one week. During that time, you must amass your six points of ID tags and return here. All right then, the first person may start!" Said Khara excitedly. Hisoka walks forward and heads for the forest. "I understand. Those who disembark earlier hold the advantage." Said Kurapika. "Yeah. They can hide and monitor their target's movements." Said Leorio. "Two minutes have passed. The second person may go!" Said Khara. When Azre was up Khara was freaked out by Azre. "The third person may go." Said Khara. "Alright!"'Said Hanzo. "The seventh person...the eleventh person...the fifteenth person. The twentieth person may go." Said Khara. Kurapika went forward. "Two minutes have passed. The twenty-first person may go!" Said Khara. "Bye." Said Killua. "Bye." Said Wendy. "Well, guess I'll begin scouting the island." Said Killua. "Two minutes have passed. The twenty-second person may go." Said Khara. "Okay! See ya." Said Wendy giving Leorio a thumbs up. "Good luck." Said Leorio. Wendy started to run.
