~saturday, the 15th of december~
There's a whirlwind of fluffy, fluttery snow storming outside when Louis wakes up next to Amanda on Saturday morning. The first thing Louis does is smile uncontrollably at Amanda's sleeping form. She was cuddled up next to him, face-to-face, deep in her slumber. Louis didn't ever want to move from this spot, he would lay here for hours or days if he could. It all felt so warm and peaceful, even as a storm painted New York City white.
Eventually, bright blue eyes met his and he grinned at her. Amanda blushed and laughed nervously as he continues to stare at her unabashedly.
"Morning, love," He says in his gruff, morning voice. Amanda wants to ask him to keep talking because his morning voice sounds so nice. She snuggles up closer to him and kisses his lips softly as he wraps his arms around her waist. Louis pulls her closer and rubs their noses together in an Eskimo kiss that makes Amanda smile widely.
"What do you wanna do today?" She asks him, looking into his beautiful blue-grey eyes that seemed to light up when she spoke to him. Louis hums, thinking about just staying in her bed all day, but he also knew there was a fireplace out in the living room.
"I could make you breakfast?" Louis offers.
"Really?" Amanda squeals, excited. Louis frowns.
"No... I've never cooked a meal," Louis admits and Amanda laughs brightly.
"Okay, I'll show you," Amanda tells him, going to get out of bed but Louis pulled her back down to stay close for a few more moments.
By the time they woke up and got out of bed, it was half past noon but Amanda was set on making bacon and pancakes with Louis. She showed him Ally's recipe for pancakes and helped stir things together while dancing around the kitchen to her Christmas playlist. And Louis wouldn't be Louis if he didn't start a mini food fight with her, that thankfully ended with kisses before it got out of hand.
Amanda sat on the counter as she watched Louis calmly pour batter into a pan and watch the pancake bubble up. This was exactly the kind of Saturday she didn't know she needed so badly. Louis looked so soft in his sweater from yesterday and a pair of Amanda's baggy sweatpants that she bought but they were way too long for her. His sweater was hanging down just a bit and Amanda could see his beautiful collarbones. His skin was tan and stretched thin over his bones. He looked so soft and cute as he tried figuring out the difference between baking soda and baking powder. He looked so smol.
"What are you doing for Christmas?" Louis asks as he flips a pancake. Amanda feels excitement fill her body just at the thought of Christmas with her family in just a handful of days.
"Me and Ally go home to Boston where our families live and we all spend the holiday's together. It's been a family tradition since before we were born," Amanda tells him, and he smiles at the thought of such a big, happy, Hallmark family.
"That sounds nice," Louis tells her, genuinely. Amanda told him all about their Christmas Eve traditions of opening a present and wearing Christmas pajamas. She talks about all the food her and her family make together and all the movies they watch. Louis loves watching her talk so passionately and he loves watching her eyes gleam with childlike excitement but it also made him feel a bit down that he couldn't have that with his family. Even if they had enough money to do all that, there's no way his mom could control nine children enough to have anything other than a mismatch Christmas dinner. This year he was especially down about Christmas, considering he wouldn't be able to go home. Niall and Louis both couldn't afford to buy plane tickets home, whilst the other boys had taken their time finding better-paying jobs and being responsible enough to save up for the holidays.
