~tuesday, the 25th of december~

Amanda woke up on Christmas day, feeling tired from yesterday, but overjoyed at the Christmas energy buzzing in the air. Amanda snuggled up to Louis wanting to stay in his warm arms forever, but eventually they had to get downstairs or else Zack would come barging in.

"Lou," She mumbled, and watched Louis rub at his eyes before looking down at her. He had one black eye and a busted lip, making Amanda frown at him, but he just smiled.

"Happy Christmas, love," He grinned, his morning voice sounding more rough than usual. Amanda ran her thumb across his lip carefully.

"You look awful, we should've iced your face last night," Amanda pouted. Louis shook his head and pulled Amanda's hand away, holding it to his heart.

"You should see the other guy," Louis joked before kissing Amanda's hand sweetly. Amanda rolled her eyes fondly. "I'm fine, really," He told her, sincerely. Amanda leaned forward and kissed his cheekbone softly.

"Merry Christmas," She told him, before jolting up and getting dressed in a Christmas onesie. Louis laughed, but put on his own onesie as well. Amanda ran downstairs to see Zack already sitting with Dani and bouncing Julie on his lap. Amanda huffed, he won this time, and laid out one of the couches. Mike and Jenny came in with cups of coffee for people who drink coffee, Zack of course only drinks creamer but we won't unpack that right now. Jen handed Louis a cup of tea, just the way he liked it and Louis smiled gratefully.

"Oh honey, do you need ice?" Jen asked, concerned. Before Louis could even answer she was already going to get an ice pack. Louis sat down on the couch next to Amanda, and she rested her legs in his lap. Louis looked at Zack.

"They know?" Louis asked. Zack nodded, sporting similar bruises but not as bad as Louis thought he probably looked.

"They still love you like a son, I mean, more than they love Dave," Zack tells him, noticing the nervous look on Louis' face. Louis smiled, thankful for that.

"Here you go, sweetie," Jen says, handing Louis a pack of ice in a towel. Louis thanks her and then all if forgotten as they start passing out gifts. It's all so wonderful to watch, Louis thinks. He loves when his sisters get all excited about the homemade gifts Louis makes and he misses that for sure, but it's nice to see Amanda's family so happy and cheerful about their gifts. Even as full-grown adults they get so excited to unwrap a pack of socks or lip balm, and Louis found it pretty endearing.

An hour later, Ally's family came over and they all exchanged gifts. Ally and Amanda got each other gifts like new oven mittens for their kitchen and new toothbrushes. They had everything they needed so it wasn't like they wanted anything frivolous. They both did splurge and buy each other tickets to see their favorite comedian, Linda Lockhart.

Ally and Niall gave each other very sweet gifts. Ally bought him a new guitar he had been looking at for ages at a store in Brooklyn and Niall got Ally a beautiful camera lens she's been wanting forever and new headphones she's been looking at. They were so cute, remembering everything the other talked about. Louis smiled fondly at the two of them.

Amanda felt pretty mischievous right about now as she got the few gifts she had wrapped for Louis. See, she had a plan; she was going to give Louis little gifts to make him think that's all he's getting but then later she would give him the plane ticket to England. She assumed her plan was fool-proof. Louis was holding two small boxes to give Amanda, so she assumed he got her something small as well.

"Here you go, baby," She smiled wide, handing Louis three wrapped gifts. Louis smiled at them, kissing Amanda on her cheek. Louis opened the first one to find a big mug that said, "what's the tea?" and Louis laughed. Amanda smiled but she was hoping he wouldn't like it. Well, Louis' too sweet not to like it.
