"Congratulations Mr and Mrs Zachary Adams"
I have lost count of how many times people have wished us.
Yes. Zach and I, we are finally married. I have a permanent smile plastered on my face. I am so happy with Zach. I fall in love with him more and more each day.
We planned on having a small celebration in the city, but then so many from my island back home wanted to join us in the happy celebration. The party list grew and grew.
So, we decided to have it back home, where it all began, where we spent so much of our time. So here we are at the beach, at our beach. Soft music is carried around the beach with the breeze. The whole place is filled with fairy lights and red roses. Everyone kind of chipped in with the food under Rina's supervision and Luke's overlooking. Everything was set to perfection. I am so grateful for the people I have around me.
Oh even Adam came to help around. He tagged along a pretty petite girl. Apparently, they are quite serious. We do keep in touch and more now with the girl in the picture. It's like he finally gets my decision.
"Hey lovebirds, have you seen Luke?" I looked at Rina curiously.
All Zach's close friends made it to the wedding and I can see that it was a huge deal for Zach.
"You have been spending quite a lot of time with him lately. What's up with that?" Rina blushed.
There is definitely something going on there.
"Fine I will go look around. You are no help! You only see Zach now" Rina went off fuming and me laughing while Zach turned to us when he heard his name.
"What about me?" He looked at me. Zach looked so happy. I have never seen him this happy ever.
"I love you" I kissed him. I heard him say it back when we heard someone clearing his throat. I looked up to find Dad and Shana beaming at us.
"Hey Guys. I just want to thank you both so much for coming here to celebrate with us." I went on and on. I felt Zach tightening his hold on my waist thinking I was about to cry, not letting go even when I was hugging them both.
"Honey it's okay. We are looking at this as a holiday too. We will stay back another week and then head home. Mike seems to be having fun here" Dad has been beaming ever since he heard we are engaged. I think I saw him wipe a tears throughout this whole day.
"Promise me you won't leave before we do" I made Dad promise. I am being too emotional. After all I won't be seeing them for a long time. You must be thinking why.
Well I have been living in the city for three years now. Before Zach left, I said yes to his plan. He asked me to move to the city with him, so that I can continue my studies. I took one year to settle Rina into the company and for me to get my thoughts together of moving. It also gave Zach time to find a new apartment for us both. He found one overlooking the sea. I love it.
During that time, I applied to a few hospitality programs. I am currently in my last year and I already have an offer to work in one of the upcoming hotels.
Oh, by the way while I am thinking over things for a whole year, Zach made a visit and proposed! I was ecstatic! Before Zach could finish asking me properly, I was all over him. I was crying and saying yes all at the same time.
My life is almost complete. Not a day goes by that I don't wish Mom was here. She would have been so proud of me today. Oh and last night, when I was having the wedding jitters Dad came and talked to me about that phone call thing Zach and him were hiding from me. I can't believe Mom schemed my life behind my back!
But I am so happy since I now know she will be happy for me without a doubt. I felt warm hands encircling my bare back, sending shivers down my back. I turned to look at my husband. He looks so handsome in a dark blue suit and vest, with a white button up shirt. His bow tie is long gone now.
"You look beautiful Mrs Adams" Zach kissed me on my lips. I get goosebumps everytime I hear his voice, now more than ever.
I do look beautiful. I got a lace beige backless wedding dress with a flowy skirt and long sleeves. My long hair was piled up on top of my head with a lot of loose hair falling here and there. I have one red rose on my hair.
"You look quite handsome too Mr Adams" I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I love you so much" His voice turned serious.
"I love you too"
"I can't wait to get you away from this place. Your dress is so......"
"Don't you dare think of ripping my dress" I exclaimed laughing.
"I wouldn't dare, but I am itching to take it off" his voice has gone all husky.
"Zach! There are guests and family still around" I lightly slapped him arm.
"We are married. No one cares" He smiled. He teases me so much. Not like the Zach before. The reserved part is all gone, atleast towards me. I love this new Zach.
"You have me for the rest of our lives" I told him softly.
"That's right. I don't want to waste another minute" His lips was almost touching mine when he said it.
I don't care either.
We are married! Finally!
