Chapter 49

I woke up feeling the sun on my face and feeling unusually warm. I tried moving to hide my face in the pillow, but something kept holding me back.

Wait. The sun?

I got up into a sitting position to look at my clock.

OMG its almost noon. I never slept this late since..

I felt the wait on my hips and looked down to find a strong muscled arm. I looked upward to find Zach's face fast asleep buried in my hips. His arms all around me.

What? What happened last night?

I felt Zach stir and saw him open his eyes.

"What time is it?" He asked groggily.

I was still staring at him.

"Oh, we should get up you have that meeting also in the afternoon".

"Yes I do" I was still looking at Zach cautiously and feeling really confused.

"You don't remember what happened do you?"

Finally he noticed the state I was in.

"No"

"I woke up in the middle of the night with you screaming. When I came into the room you wouldn't wake up but started crying. It took awhile for you to calm down. So I thought I would just stay here for the night".

Zach was looking at me very closely. I couldn't look at his face anymore.

"Judging from your reaction this is noting new to you" He stated, not even a question.

I sighed.

"It used to happen quite a lot, but now it has been months since this happened. I think Dad's visit and you being here triggered it once again" I tried to make sense out of it.

"Mia.." To my surprise Zach grabbed me by my shoulders and hugged me tight.

"I am so sorry I couldn't make it earlier" his voice is thick with emotion and guilt.

"Please don't blame yourself. I promise you I am doing so much better now" I was hugging him back and never want to let go. He smelled so good even in the morning. His breath was tickling my ears and giving me feelings I had buried long ago.

Zach pulled back slightly and his eyes fell on what I was wearing. I saw his light brown eyes turn a shade darker before he averted his face. 

"We should get up" Zach said with a slight cough.

Confused I looked down and widened my eyes. Oh shit! I was wearing a flimsy tank top and white at that.

"err yeah we should"

"Okay I will go start making breakfast then" He rubbed his hands along my arms and kissed me on the forehead before getting off the bed and leaving the room.

I was sitting like that with a stupid smile on my face for a while before I got snapped out of it by the ringing of my phone.

Clearing my throat I answered the call without looking at who it is.

Mia : Hello

Unknown : Mia! You need to come to the hospital right now!

Rina's Mom?

Mia: What happened to Rina?

Rina's Mom: She woke up! Mia she woke up! Finally

She burst into uncontrollable tears saying that. I was stunned at the news.
