Again, the grammar will probably be so incorrect because you can never fully trust google translation.

Clover's pov

"Why do I have to do that today?" I whine.

"Because I never got to meet an alien before, much less someone with superpowers. I just want to see some of your potential. And besides, don't you want to strengthen your powers?" Shuri explains to me, trying to use small words for my young brain.

I was sitting on the ground as two kids from the village were braiding my hair like they did every morning. Shuri was kneeling in front of us.

"But months ago, I was able to throw the red and blue dude without even trying." I pointed out

"Well don't you want to see what else you can do with your powers?"

I shrug, "I guess. But not right now."

"Alright, I'll have your teacher come and get you later this afternoon."

"Okay. Bye Shuri."

"Sala kakuhle!"(goodbye!) The other kids say behind me.

Shuri waves at us as she walks away. A few minutes pass by until I didn't feel pulling on my hair anymore.

"Konke kwenzekile."(All done) One of the kids say to me.

"Thank you." I say to them.

They smile at me, "Wamkelekile." (Welcome)

I held my arms out to my sides for balance as I walk slowly on top of the wooden fence that keeps the goats from running away.

"So she says that later my teacher is going to come get me so I can practice using my powers." I repeat what Shuri told me to Bucky, who was working around the farm of some other person who lives near us.

"Did she say how you are going to test your powers?" Bucky asks me.

I shake my head and focus on the fence in front of me as I take another step.

"My dad said he was able to make a big rock statue of...." I pause in the middle of talking.

"A statue of what?"

I stand still on the fence, "I don't remember."

My eyes started tearing up. "Bucky I'm getting sad now." I announce.

I bend down slowly so I could sit on the fence. Bucky stopped working and walked over to me.

My eyes widen as I realize, "I'm gonna forget them some day. I don't really remember Mantis. I'm gonna forget their faces. Rocket, Gamora, I'm gonna forget my dad. I don't want to forget them!" I cry.

Bucky stood in front of me. His eyes looked sad.

"I know what it's like to forget someone. My family, Steve, our war buddies, faces didn't matter to me for almost 70 years. But that doesn't mean they are forgotten. As long as you know where you're from, who you are, then they will always be remembered." Bucky said, wiping away the tears that were falling down my cheek.

"As long as you know that you are Clover Quill, daughter of Peter Quill, an outlaw of the galaxy. You might forget his face but you'll never forget him." He says with a sad smile.

I was walking around the trees, looking for any bugs or living things. I just finished eating before everyone else so I usually walk around till Bucky is done and then I follow him somewhere else.

I heard movement above in the tree next to me so stop and try to see the creature.

I heard a hiss come from behind me so I turn around to see a serphant thing on the ground. Right when it came at me I grab it tightly with both hands before it could bite me.

(Note - Clover sometimes gas quicker reflexes than most people)

I've see things like this before on other planets, only they were a lot bigger.

I think my teacher, Zola, said what I was holding is called a inyoka. She is teaching me the animals that live on Earth right now.

The inyoka was moving around in my hands but I didn't let go of it. I walk back to the group who were still eating lunch and ask out loud.

"Is this one edible?"

Everyone turns towards me. All the adults immediately stand up and start talking to me all at once but I could only hear a couple of things.

Like I heard one man say to Bucky, "Intomba u ngcikizi!" (It translates to 'is an abomination' but that's as close as I'm going to get to trying to say 'Your daughter is insane.')

All the kids that were eating were surprised and smiling and shouting. Some of the adults were holding them back from walking to me.

"Yibeke phantsi!"(Put it down!)A woman shouts.

"So I can't eat this one?"

"Hayi!"(No!)

"Clover put the snake down, that's not something you eat." Bucky speaks up.

I pout, "Ok fine."

"Ukuphosa!"(Throw it!) I hear one of the kids yell.

I grin, throwing the serphant away from me and watch it slither away back to the trees.

"Umfokazi!"(Alien/alien resident) I hear my teacher yell in the distance.

I run past the group of adults that were now staring at me weirdly. I head towards the direction I heard Zola. I see her walking up the hill and I run down to her.

"Zola! Guess what, I saw and held a inyoka and everyone started freaking out! Why can't I eat those? Are they poisonous?" I ask her.

She laughs and says "I know that you are an outsider to this world but here we don't usually eat anything that is still moving. And yes some of them are very poisonous so you have to be careful around them."

I nod "Ok. Can Bucky come with us?"

She replies, "I don't see why not."
