I wake up lit because today is my birthday. I still have to get ready for school. I decided to put on a simple but cute outfit. Cause you know I have a game tonight.

I pack my basketball bag and go downstairs.

"Morning!" I say.

"Happy birthday my 17 year old!" My dad says kissing me on the cheek.

"Thanks daddy!" I say.

"Well I have to head in to school. I'll see you later." I say about to run out the house.

"Baby your not going to school. I have a surprise for ya. So go back upstairs and wait till I get ready." He tells me.

"Ok daddy!" I say happily.

"Oh and Melo sent you something in the mail. It's on the porch." I walk outside and see flowers and a black small box with a note.

I take it all inside.

"What was it?" My mom asks.

"He got me flowers and it's a box with a note." I tell them.

"Read it!" They all yell at me.

"Ok ok." I say opening the letter.

"Wow!" My mom says.

"You really have that boy hooked." My mom continued.

"Btw Jaedyn you should bring him over sometime. I like the way he treats you. Seems like a good person." My dad smiled.

"Thank you daddy!" I hug him. I grab my phone to text Melo.
