link's been traveling for a few days now.

he upgraded his tunic and pants at a fairy fountain (which he found extremely uncomfortable) and bought more arrows.

he also bought a ton of food for preparation during his presumably long journey.

at the start, the pressure link was getting was way too much. to be honest, he just wanted to regain his memories and let someone else defeat ganon.

but after hearing the strange soothing voice,

determination flooded his entire body.

he desperately needed to know who this voice belonged to. even if it meant doing hard work and defeating ganon.

— later —

link got a few more memories, but they all didn't include the girl he wanted to know more about. this made him a little bit frustrated and impatient. however he did learn about zelda and her struggle about not being able to activate her power. there was a lot of pressure for the princess.

link knew all too well what that felt like.

— later —

after figuring out which divine beast he wanted to go after first and exploring some shrines, link decided to return to hateno village. he saw a goddess statue there and decided to pray.

he prayed for good luck.

he felt a little bit stronger afterwards.

link went back to epona and combed her long brown hair. he mounted his horse and continued his journey.

during his memories, he noticed that he was carrying the same sword on his back and learnt that it was called 'the sword that seals the darkness'. link had a feeling that he would need that particular sword in order to defeat ganon. he felt empty without it. he decided to get it after his first divine beast.

his thoughts wandered for a little longer and he thought about the girl again.

"who is she? what does she mean to me? is she alive? no, it's been 100 years. she must've...died."

link felt his hands shaking and he looked down. his knuckles were white and he would not let go of the horse's reigns.

"why am i acting like this?! what's wrong with me?!"

link didn't understand any of it. not one bit.

link closed his eyes, and felt the wind gently pass his face. his golden hair moved in sync with the wind and he breathed in and sighed.

he decided to go to death mountain first.
