silent memories // botw link x reader

tumbo!

for the next few hours, you stayed with the zora prince as you waited for link's return. you and sidon were sitting down on the crystal steps and were enjoying the warm sunlight together. every time you thought about the hero, your mind kept replaying the memory of your lips melting in his. 

"thinking about the kiss again?"

"how'd you know?"

"your ears glow a bright pink every time you talk about it. i just figured that you're thinking about it since they're a lot more pink than before!"

"whatever, sidon."

the prince laughed and teased you some more and you felt embarrassed. not because the kiss happened, you were beyond happy that you had enough courage to do something so bold, you were just embarrassed that sidon was there and watched the whole thing. 

"you know, y/n, i talked about you to him last night."

"you what?!"

"relax, i didn't tell him about your feelings for him. but i did find something rather interesting."

sidon was about to tell you when muzu ran up to him while panting frantically. 

"your highness! come quick! a young zora has been cornered by a large amount of lizalflos!"

sidon immediately stood up and started questioning on the whereabout the zora child was. you stood up as well, a worried look in your eyes. 

"near mikau lake! hurry!"

sidon nodded and ran off, he grabbed a silver longsword nearby and called out to you.

"y/n! do you have a weapon? can you fight?"

you nodded and brought out your knight's bow and sword.

"excellent! quickly now, this way!"

you followed sidon to mikau lake near ploymus mountain, sidon brought 4 zora soldiers and you all ran across the domain to get to the child's location as quickly as you could. as you neared the lake, sidon ordered the soldiers to stay put and get into positions where they couldn't be seen. sidon gestured for you to follow him and you both snuck behind a bright red and pink coral bush. 

"y/n, i need you to shoot ice arrows at them, do you have any?"

you answered the prince's question by loading a few of them into your quiver on your belt. 

"alright, i can see about ten of those annoying lizards...there's the child! y/n, on my mark..."

you raised your bow carefully and closed an eye, you focused on a lizalfo that was about to strike. 

"release!"

you released the ice arrow, and it pierced the lizalfo right in the back, making it freeze in it's spot. the other monsters looked around and picked up their weapons. sidon looked over at the soldiers and raised a hand. 

"soldiers!"

the zoras all let out a battle cry and ran towards the camp of lizalfos with spears and longswords. you ran out with them, placing ice arrow after ice arrow into your bow and releasing them straight into the lizalflos. you shot at a few of them, trying to make it easier for the zoras to defeat them.

you saw the small zora child and yelled over at sidon.

"sidon! i'll get the child!"

the prince nodded at you as he let his sword go straight through one of the lizalflo's chest. you ran across the ground and skidded to a stop when an electic lizalfo confronted you. you quickly swapped out your bow with your sword and you slashed and cut the yellow lizard before it could zap you. it cried and you stabbed it right between it's two big eyes. you noticed that your sword was about to break and you cursed. you suddenly saw the child backing up against a wall with two lizalflo's nearing them. you ran towards the child and quickly shot an arrow through one of the lizalflo's head and threw your sword straight through the other's back. you ran up to the child and kneeled down.

"come, you're safe now."

the blue zora ran into your arms and you held him tightly. 

"sidon! i've got him!"

"alright! soldiers, finish the job!"

the zora's let out a cry again soon finished off the rest of the lizalflo's. 

— later —

"y/n, i've never seen you fight like that before. it was amazing!"

you smiled up at sidon as he complimented you on your skills. you shyly thanked him and felt a tug on your sleeve.

it was the little zora child that you saved before. you found out that his name was tumbo.

"thanks for saving me ms. hylian! you were really brave, i wish i was as brave as you!"

tumbo gave you a cute smile that reminded you of sidon and you squealed internally at how adorable this child was. you smiled back at the blue zora and he giggled. he lifted up a hand and reached for yours, you let him hold your hand and you looked over at sidon while mouthing 'so cute!'. sidon laughed and looked over at the reservoir lake and gazed at vah ruta.

"you know, i think if link brought you with him, he'd probably be done with vah ruta by now."

you laughed and looked at the mechanical elephant. sidon was probably right but you knew link's reasons and that he would never let you go with him when it came to divine beasts. 

— later —

you sat down in front of the large statue of mipha with sidon and tumbo. tumbo was currently eating some fish while sidon was chatting to him about being more careful and taking an older zora to go with him next time. you chuckled at the pouty face tumbo gave the prince.

"i don't get how laruta and the other girls like you so much, you're so strict! they even have a stupid fanclub..."

you laughed loudly at tumbo's attitude towards sidon. the prince looked at tumbo with surprise and shock, his yellow eyes widening.

"they do?"

tumbo nodded at sidon and gave him a cheeky smile. you looked over at sidon and saw that he had a red hue across his face when he heard this new information and you teased him about it. 

"you're just getting back at me from earlier, aren't you?"

you laughed some more.

"yep! fair and square."
