the sun was rising, and the birds were singing songs. the gentle flow of the wind rushed past your face smoothly, making you breathe in the fresh aroma around you as you woke up. you saw the bright gold light, shining onto your little camp area. everything was sparkling, and you felt relaxed.

you slowly sat up, stretching your arms in the process and glanced at the lake from yesterday. you looked over to see link, sleeping peacefully. you smiled to yourself and stood up, walking over to the pile of wood from the fire last night and you sat down. you leaned back slightly, breathing in the fresh dew.

little did you know, link opened one of his eyes, and watched you. he moved his lean body, so that he was sitting up and he tried not to make any noise. he slowly grabbed his sheikah slate, and clicked a button.

luckily for him, you didn't hear and you yawned. you felt eyes burning into the back of your head and you spun around. you saw link standing up and putting on his champion's tunic. you saw a glimpse of his defined torso and felt your face heat up. you turned back around and played with the hem of your f/c hylian tunic.

"good morning, y/n."

you hummed and whispered a little 'good morning' and link chuckled. he sat down next to you, tying up his long blonde hair. you smiled.

"link, leave your hair down."

-

"what? why?"

-

"i've never seen it down before."

-

"i look silly. besides, if i don't tie it up, it'll get in the way of things."

-

"like...?"

-

"like...fighting off bokoblins, climbing mountains, and..."

-

"and?"

-

"catching horses!"

you gasped, you had totally forgotten that you were going to get your very own horse today! you squealed and jumped up and immediately got your supplies. link raised a curious eyebrow and stood up as well.

"woah woah woah, hold on, y/n."

-

"what?"

-

"we need to eat first."

you mentally facepalmed and you both decided to gather some ingredients together for your breakfast.

— later —

after your meal and constant compliments on link and his amazing food, it was finally time to pack up. you rolled up your sleeping bag and packed it away into epona's pouches. you thought about your own horse and hoped that it was a strong one. you had a lot of items from your months of travelling around the tabantha region and you could barely carry most of it.

packing up didn't take too long, and you were ready for the following activities you were going to do with link. link sat on his horse, patting her neck lightly and he gestured you to get on as well. by now, you knew how to board a horse but that didn't mean you knew how to ride one. you held onto link's waist, and he kicked epona in the sides to tell her to start trotting.

you and link rode through hyrule field, peacefully.

until link suddenly stopped epona in her tracks.
