the sun was starting to set and after crossing inogo bridge and fighting electric lizalfos in the tabahl woods, link had stopped suddenly in front of a small river bank with water quickly going in one direction and making a loud, rushing noise.

you were walking behind link, trying to see the path through the heavy rain. you squinted your eyes and wiped your wet face, freeing your eyelashes from the water droplets.

"link? why have we stopped?"

link turned his head towards you slightly and smiled softly. he directed his nose to in front of him and you stepped next to the hylian, trying to see what he was looking at.

"isn't it beautiful?"

you e/c eyes followed his bright blue ones and your jaw dropped a bit. the sight in front of you was extremely mesmerising and angelic-like. as the sun was setting, the golden rays had hit the beautiful purple and midnight blue rocks on a large cliff, making them look almost transparent. there were small waterfalls here and there by the glimmering and glossy rocks, falling into the river where you and link stood. the glimmering rocks looked like spikes, they were coming out of the side of cliffs and you took another step forward, closer to the rushing river.

even though the rain was beating down on you, it didn't distract you from the view at all. you started to think about link. you smiled to yourself and turned around to face the hero, he looked straight into your eyes and you couldn't help but giggle at the sight of him.

his clothing was drenched and it sticked to his lean body, his boots all shiny from the water and his hair was sticking to the front and sides of his face. you could still see his bright blue eyes through his damp golden locks. you felt bad that he had given you his cloak, but he looked like he didn't mind the rain.

"hey...link?"

he cocked his head to the side.

"i admire the way you admire things."

link looked at you confusingly, but then changed his expression to a soft and considerate one. you faced the river again.

"i like the way you look at the world. even though hyrule is in despair and is in total wreck, you can still see the beauty in everything..."

link's cheeks grew pink, but he tried his best to ignore it.

link then spoke up, making you face the handsome hylian.

"you know, y/n...this place is called the bank of wishes."

-

"why is that?"

-

"i'm not sure...but here, take this and make a wish. and then i guess throw it into the river?"

he walked over to you and handed you a small opal. he gently placed it in your palm and you picked it up, eyeing it and smiling widely.

"this is gorgeous link!"

-

"it's not the only thing that's gorgeous..."

you blinked and blushed, cheeks burning at link's comment. link then realised what he had said and he darted his eyes around, dodging your wide e/c ones. he scratched the back of his head and chuckled nervously.

"come on...make a wish, y/n."

you turned around, clutching the small gem in your hand and you closed your eyes.

you held the opal to your chest and re-opened your eyes. you gently threw it into the rushing river and turned around to face link.

"what did you wish for?"

-

"not telling! you can't tell other people your wishes!"

-

"what? y/n come on!"

-

"nope! it's...private."

-

"tch, fine."

link turned around and started to walk off, expecting you to follow. you stayed still and looked up at the sky. you smiled.

"y/n? you coming? this rain isn't going to stop anytime soon."

you laid your eyes on link's frame and jogged over to him.

"let's get going to zora's domain."

-

"right."

you turned your head to look back at the bank and blushed.

"i wish link would stay by my side until the end of time."
