lol it's been a long time since link got a memory! lowkey forgot about them oops.

muzu and the king went on and on about the armour until muzu had left the room completely after disagreeing with the king on giving such a meaningful piece to link. the king told you two about how precious mipha was to him and you couldn't help but feel your heart drop. it all made sense, link and mipha.

sidon noticed the change in your mood and wanted to speak to you. but then decided to go speak some sense into muzu first.

"link, y/n, would you mind going down to speak to muzu as well? perhaps you could talk some sense into him..."

without waiting for link, you left. you desperately wanted to know the truth.

you had to admit it to yourself.

you've fallen for the hero.

and seeing him with others hurt you like a needle that pierced straight through your heart.

you didn't want to fall for him, he had too many concerns and complications on his shoulders and telling him your feelings would only stress him out even more, let alone it'll definitely complicate everything. you mentally slapped yourself for being so selfish. perhaps it was the way link cared for you when you were sick, or how he was amazing at cooking, or how he was always there for you no matter what, all of these had probably contributed to why you had fallen in love with him. he seemed to always know what to say when all was lost. maybe the bank of wishes wasn't really real...and that he would leave you if you didn't tell him the truth.

you were walking down the stairs, you placed the hood on your wet head and wrapped link's cloak around yourself even tighter than it was before. you eventually reached the bottom where sidon and muzu were arguing. next to the statue.

"muzu! please! tell us where the shock arrows are! link needs them in order to stop vah ruta!"

"no! i don't care if you're royalty! i will not help some hylian who was the reason for lady mipha's death!"

"muzu, you must understand, link was a great deal to our dear mipha not in the way you think! surely, you know this?"

"how could this...hylian be of any importance to our lady mipha?!"

sidon sighed out of frustration but heard another voice nearby and turned around.

"y/n! wait!"

it was link, he was jogging down the stairs and heading in your direction. now that you fully understood your feelings, you couldn't help but look away and stay quiet. it was probably better that link didn't know your true feelings anyway.

"y/n? what's wrong?"

you didn't answer link and before he could question you further, sidon jumped in to stop link, an action to save you.

"link! you're here! muzu, don't you realise that the armour my sister made perfectly fits link?! link is the hylian that mipha was in love with!"

you felt your heart fill up with despair and sadness while link's eyes widened. you stepped back, the hood slowly covering your face as you looked down. link stepped towards you but he caught himself staring up at the statue. his eyes started to blur...

it was a clear and sunny day in zora's domain. the sun was setting with a slow pace and the sky turned gold and peach. vah ruta raised it's mechanical and ancient trunk towards the sky, so that it was eye level with it.
