----------------------------------------------------------

link cursed and cursed. he punched the ground with his fist and didn't even notice when it started to bruise and bleed.

how could he let this happen to (y/n)?

link had no idea where the yiga took (y/n), his mind was racing. a few drops of water fell beside him and link looked up into the sky. it started to turn grey, dark clouds started to form as the sunlight slowly started to disappear. link stood up, his sword in one hand and the other raised. he took notice of his bruised fist as he took off the glove and stared at it. he then clenched his fist in determination and placed the glove back on.

the rain got more and more heavy as link sprinted back to his mare and (y/n)'s stallion. epona neighed when her rider was in sight and link caressed her long nose whilst looking at (h/n). link grabbed some rope out of one of epona's pouches and tied it to (h/n)'s front reigns and then tied it to epona's back ones. the hylian then mounted his horse and rode her to where kakariko's graveyard was and where the rest of the villagers were staying.

link neared the sheikah's and dismounted his mare and searched for impa. the crowd suddenly cornered him and cheered.

"master link! you saved us!"

"we're so glad you were here!"

"three cheers for the hero!"

link started to get agitated when the villagers were smiling, how could they? you were gone. link couldn't save you and they were cheering for him?

link's eyes darkened and he pushed his way through the crowd. the villagers grew extremely quiet and backed away, link walked past them and found impa at the back where paya was attending to her knee.

"my dear, link, you're alright...thank the goddesses."

-

"impa...i--"

-

"i know. you must save her first before hyrule...do what you must. paya shall take care of (y/n)'s horse. go now, link, there's no time."

link nodded and guided paya to (h/n). link then mounted epona and was about to leave when paya grabbed the young hero's hand. link glanced down at the sudden contact. paya's cheeks turned red and she stumbled over her words, her hand gripping onto link's tightly.

"m-master link, i--um, i hope you find miss (y/n), a-and..."

-

"...yes?"

-

"i'll shall be w-waiting for y-you...h-here."

link smiled, and paya's face flushed even more. link nodded at her and she let go of her grip.

link raised his voice and epona ran back through kakariko village, and out to the blatchery plains. link rode to the stable there and jumped off epona. he rushed into the tent and started questioning the hylians there if they knew anything about the yiga clan.

link ran up to the stable manager, tasseren, and started rambling about the yiga clan.

"woah there, boy! calm down! what's the matter?"

-

"sir, i need to know if you've ever encountered the yiga--"

-

"hey! don't i know you from somewhere?"

link stopped talking and scrunched his eyebrows. the manager looked up and down at link, taking in his young appearance and messy hair. the manager thought for a bit and link grew a bit impatient. tasseren then hummed and closed his eyes, his mind in deep thought.

"oh yes! you were that quiet boy a few weeks back, weren't ya? ...huh, so you CAN speak! you were dressed in brown but now you're in blue, looks like you still have your mare as well. hey, that's a nice sword you got there, you're a traveler now?"

link smiled a bit and coughed.

"so what's this about a yiga clan?"

-

"do you know where the yiga clan is located? their hideout?"

tasseren shook his head and apologised to link. link understood and continued on his way across the map of hyrule and rode through the dueling peaks and past the river. the sound of epona's hooves seemed to be louder than usual in link's pointy ears along with the sound of his beating heart.

the only thing link could think about was (y/n), images of her were displayed in his mind as he rode on the roads of hyrule and link cursed again. he couldn't finish his journey without (y/n), and he knew that by heart.

(y/n).

link felt horrible to what he did to her back at zora's domain. he should have never let her kiss him, and he shouldn't have let his feelings flood through that sweet and tender kiss. that moment they shared made link blush and his blood started to boil. he chose someone else over her and he regretted it. but what of the other girl? it wasn't fair to her either.

link shook his head, and tried to focus on getting (y/n) back. link rode past the great plateau and skidded to a stop. there was a young woman nearby a tree, crying. link dismounted epona and slowly walked over to the young girl.

"miss? are you alright?"

the woman started to murmur but link couldn't hear what she was saying and stepped closer.

"miss?"

suddenly the woman grabbed a demon carver out from her backside and transformed into a yiga scout! link grabbed his sword and got ready for combat. the yiga woman attacked link from above and link raised his sword as shield to deflect her hit. the yiga jumped backwards and formed a yiga chant and a dark red circle appeared behind her.

link also jumped back and waited for her to come out of the sky where he pinned her against the ground and raised his sword to her neck.

"tell me where your hideout is!"

the yiga scout tried to raise her hands to teleport away when link pinned them down his free hand above her head. his sword got closer to her neck and link glared at her, his icy blue eyes darkening with anger.

"tell me, or i'll slice your throat!"

the woman swallowed and she spoke in a quiver.

"i-in the gerudo region!"

-

"how will i know you're telling the truth?!"

link once again neared the sword to her neck, barely grazing it.

"it's located south-east in the highlands! i swear! there will be red papers hung from the ceiling!"

link sighed and let go of her arms. he stood up and placed his sword behind his back and walked over to epona.

"that's it? you're...not going to kill me?"

-

"i have no reason to."

link mounted epona and galloped away, towards the one area he hasn't been to yet. he followed his map and prayed that (y/n) was alright.

"(y/n)... i'm coming."
