The order was feeling rather lazy as the weekend approached.
The weekend is the only days we are relieved from any duties around the town. In my opinion, Jesse deserves a break. She's been doing paperwork all week and filling in all her duties in town. She has been so dedicated in her work. She is definatly my idol.
I walked into the treasure hall, my incomplete book in hand, to find Axel and Olivia sitting around, deep in conversation. Jesse wasn'tanywhere to be seen.
"Oh hey Lukas. Didn't see ya walk in!" Olivia greeted me.
Axel gave me a nod and I returned it.
"Uh, has anyone seen Jesse?"
"Why? So you can tell her you love her?" Olivia said, teasing me.
My cheeks went bright red and I stammered a response in my defense.
"W-what? Nooooo! I don't love her! T-that's ridiculous!"
"Mhm sure. Understatement of the century." Olivia replied.
"Uhhh...I'm just gonna....write my book on that side."
I pointed to the other side of the hall. Olivia giggled at my foolish statement just a minute ago.
My cheeks were still glowing with blush.
I guess Olivia had a point. That was the understatement of the century. Jesse is the love of my life. I can't help falling deeper in love with her everyday. Everything about her is perfect... I wish I could just hold her in my arms and promise her my undying love for her and kiss her whenever I wanted-
I was pulled from my little fantasy when a voice broke the silence in the room.
"Hey guys! I'm so glad it's weekend. I NEED a break."
"Jesse!" We all yelled in unison, making all of us laugh.
"You guys wanna do something?" She asked.
"OOOOH!!! Let's play truth or dare! It's been so long since we played it! Please please pleeeaaassseee!?" Olivia said with puppy eyes.
We all laughed and decided to play Truth! or! Daaaare! (As Olivia pronounces it)
"Ok...who's gonna start?" Jesse asked.
"Ooh! Me! Me!" Olivia put both her hands up so she could go first.
Jesse teased her and pretended to think about it.
"Hmm. I don't know...anyone else?"
"Jesse! MEEE!! I HAVE A GOOD ONE!" Olivia screamed.
We laughed and Olivia started.
"Ok ok. Lukas-"
"Wait, what? Why me?"
I protest but once she makes up her mind, there's no changing it...
"Because I said so!"
"Uh...truth?"
She looks at me smiling evily. Worst mistake of my life...
I gulp and await my question.
"Tell your crush you like them!" She says while giggling.
My face went red as I sent a stray glance in the direction of Jesse.
"Um...can I change to dare?"
"It's not gonna change anything but fine. I dare you to tell your crush how you feel..."
she was on the verge of bursting from laughter.
