Sequel to promise :3
Jesse's POV
After losing sight of the interior of the now ruined safe house, I found myself frantically looking around for a way out of deaths way, a way out of this beam... a way back to my friends.
Rising above the wreckage, I spied a rugged metal bar sticking out of the building. I grasped onto rough patches on the surface of the collapsed roof, clawing my way to the bar, and keeping myself from drifting further into the monsters trap.
Stretching as far as I could reach, I wrapped my fingers around the resilient metal bar proved reliable as the Wither moved on, freeing me from its tractor beam.
"Ha! I knew I'd find a way!" I said to no one in particular.
Having said that, I had to move, unless I wanted to be caught again...
Scaling my way down the rubble, I started to feel light headed and weak, stumbling once my feet touched the ground and doubling over in a sudden fit of coughing.
"But I was fine just a few minutes ago... what's happening to me?"
Lukas's POV
After the odd sensation of entering the portal faded, I turned to face Jesse's friends only to be met with the resentful glare of Axel, the distressed glance from Olivia, the sorry look from Gabriel and a frustrated sigh from Petra.
"Where's Jesse?" Olivia squeaked, looking a little perplexed.
I said nothing. I did not wish to know where Jesse might be or if she's even still alive.
Agh! So many things I left unsaid to her!
"Olivia asked you a question, new guy!" Axel grumbled.
I flinched at the warning tone in his voice and avoided eye contact.
"I...I don't know. She was trapped in the Witherstorm's tractor beam but I couldn't get to her and-" I was cut off as Axel and Olivia rushing back to the portal.
Axel shoved his shoulder hard into mine when he brushed past, sending an icy glare back in my direction.
Petra, luckily, knew what they were trying to do and got between them and the portal.
"You can't go back out there, it's too dangerous! Jesse can hold her own. We just have to trust that she can manage to get out of this." Petra reasoned, getting the duo to back off.
"Oh and another thing- Axel, you cant keep treating Lukas like a dirty slime block. He's a good guy."
"But-" Axel started to protest but Petra cut him off.
"No buts. We've gotta move if we want to survive this and save all those people."
That being her final word, she started leading us through the burning inferno called the Nether when the portal twisted and warped, signalling the teleportation of someone... or something.
Within a few seconds, the portal threw out a person. That person turned out to be none other than Ivor, the guy to blame for this whole 'escapade' and the inevitable doom he rained upon us.
"You!" Petra growled and power-walked up to the old man, backing him up to the side of the portal, keeping him there.
"Why'd you do it? Some petty revenge? To prove something? Look where that got us!"
Petra didn't give up and kept pushing him for answers.
"Okay! I know I messed up but you don't have to rub it in!" Ivor defended himself.
"I know you may not trust me-"
"Not one bit!"
"-But if you wish to survive this storm, you have to find the carts that go through the Nether. They lead to a portal far out of town, close the the Orders old temple. Make refuge there and concoct a plan. Now best of luck." And with that, he gulped down a bottle of invisibility potion and silently made his own path.
"I don't like this but... that the best shot we have. Any objections?" Olivia piped up.
Everyone stayed silent and we hastily made our way i the direction Ivor had pointed us to.
