WADE'S POV
Her pretty self rose and fell in small breaths. Her lips, pursed together and her face, the calmest I've seen in a while. She was at peace. I was glad she was at peace especially now that she was with me. I would take all the pain for both of us if it meant Bella could feel nothing but peace.
I sat on a chair in front of the window and watched her sleep. I wonder what she would say if she found out I had been doing this for three days now. Would she think I was weird?. Would she think I was creepy and obsessed?
I can't deny I'm obsessed with her.
She was in blue PJ's and a shirt too big for her but she looked cute nonetheless and a smile formed on my lips.
I found my peace in her.
A roaring sound awoke me from my thoughts and I looked out the window to see a car driving into the compound. My eyebrows furrowed together as I watched it park swiftly and the door opened. It was Axel.
Axel had been having issues for a couple of months and I already felt guilty for not being there enough. I was glad he was home now.
I stood up from the chair and moved towards Bella. Strands of her beautiful black hair fell across her face, I smiled as I tucked then behind her ear and planted a small kiss on her forehead.
I left the room immediately and walked down the hallway towards the stairs. I heard voices as I walked down the stairs to the living area. Axel sat on the couch with his head buried in his hands and across him were Megan, Felix and Luke.
"Al", I said softly and he looked up immediately.
His eyes were sad, sleep deprived bags formed underneath. He ran his fingers through his messed up hair.
"Wade", he said standing up and walking hurriedly towards me.
"What the hell happened?", I ask as he embraced me tightly.
"She's gone bro, she's gone"
---
"You got a study here too?", Axel asked, looking around, "sometimes you act like you still run a gang"
I chuckled lightly, "I like having my own study and wearing suits, excuse me for being as corporate as they come"
He chuckled, "Bella's here?", he asked and I nodded.
"I saw Felix downstairs with a cast around his arm. He said he got into an accident", he said and grimaced, "with Bella"
I frowned and nodded, "yes", I said softly.
"And the baby?"
I realised I hadn't told Axel about Bella loosing the baby I was excited to tell him about just days before the accident. Truthfully, I was in denial and didn't want to talk to anyone. I like to think I was already healed and accepting things the way they were.
But that was also a lie.
"She lost it", I said grabbing a bottle of vodka on the table and pouring it into an already set glass.
"Fuck", Axel said watching me intently, "I'm sorry"
I shrugged and raised the glass to my lips, drinking it and dropping it.
"I have to pretend like I'm okay for her. I need her to be okay", I said.
"I understand", he said grabbing the bottle and setting a glass for himself.
"Since when do you drink?", I asked as i watched him pour into the glass. Axel never touched alcohol, ever.
"Since she left", he said sadly as he drank quickly.
I sighed heavily, placing two fingers on my forehead and rubbing lightly. After my 'death', Axel and Mae had both left to Italy to continue in college. I wanted them to have the normal lives they both did. Axel called only a few months after, explaining that Mae had left both the school and him, leaving only a note where she didn't even say much.
"What happened?", I asked even though I had already heard it before. I just felt like he needed to pour out to someone and I could be that someone.
His big brother.
"I came back to our apartment from my religion class", he said, "and she fucking left a note", he added, pouring another glass of vodka.
I raised an eyebrow as he drank swiftly, "Dear Axel, I'm sorry but I have to go. Blah blah blah, there are things you won't understand. What the fuck?!", He said angrily.
He poured another glass, "Mae and I have been together for years. I feel like we could have gone past whatever the fuck she felt I won't understand", he said, "I deserve more than just some shitty letter"
I nodded and grabbed the glass cup from him before he could drink again. He frowned at me and I shook my head. "You can't have this right now. Not while you're like this"
He sighed and nodded, "I just don't know what to do"
"First of all, stop fucking drinking because too much alcohol just makes people more stupid than they already are"
He rolled his eyes and I smirked.
"Next, clean yourself up. You look like a mess"
"I haven't had motivation to do anything since she left", he whined.
"We'll find her, I promise", I said in an encouraging tone. I meant it. Mae was like a sister to me and Axel's story wasn't making much sense. I was going to find her.
"You don't want her coming back to find you looking like you haven't showered in days, now do you?", I asked and he shook his head.
"I love her Wade. You know what that's like", he said.
I did. I really did and I understood him. I couldn't imagine what I would be like if Bella left me with nothing but a letter.
"I know", I said nodding and smiling at him. "Now come on, let's get you a bathroom and some new clothes", I added, standing up.
He stood up and we walked towards the door. It opened slowly and I frowned as Bella's head popped in, smiling when she saw me.
My frown dropped and I found myself smiling back at her.
"Hey, I woke up and you weren't in the room", she said softly before turning to stare at Axel. "Hi Axel!", She said happily, beaming at him.
Axel smiled at her, he looked happy. I couldn't tell if it was genuine or not but I was glad Bella was buying it.
