BELLA
Stacy's jaw dropped wide open when I walked out. I felt my cheeks flush.
"Don't do that Stace", I rose my shoulders, "it's not the first time you're seeing me in this"
She smiled, "well, I haven't gotten over how amazing you look in it Bells!"
I gazed at my reflection in the mirror. She was right, I looked the nicest I had looked in a pretty long while- it felt different.
"Do you think it's too much?", I asked, running my hands over the purple silk that clung my thighs.
"Did you even see the pictures online", she popped her head over my shoulder, "I'm sure we'll see crazier, extravagant dresses tonight", she said, "plus I'm sure Micah will love this"
"Micah and I are just friends", I reminded her.
"Right"
I glanced at the clock, we didn't have a lot of time left. "Your turn", I said to her.
Grabbing a bag off the top of her bed, she winked at me, "prepare to be dazzled"
As she walked into her bathroom, I sat on the bed and sighed. Immediately the door shut, I grabbed my purse and took it out, the little black box he gave me. I opened it and took out the necklace in it, it still looked as beautiful as the first day I saw it, although it didn't wear it as much as I used to anymore. I didn't wear it at all.
I didn't notice the bathroom door open and Stacy walk out.
"What's that?", she asked. I glanced at her in shock.
"Just an old gift", I placed it back in the box.
"From Wade?"
She sat next to me, "yes", I nodded, "he gave it to me the second time he sent his men to kidnap me"
She snorted, "that's a twisted way of being romantic"
"Wade was kind of twisted", I shrugged, "I was going to wear it tonight but that seems stupid now"
"Hey", she grabbed the box, "if you want to wear it, you can"
"It feels like I'm still holding on to him", I said, "when I know he's not coming back"
She opened the box, "then you're not wearing it", she said, "let's make tonight your night, your new beginning. No more Wade, no more raiders. When we get back, we can burn every thing you still have that reminds you of him if you want"
I chuckled and took the box from her, "okay", I said, "we'll do that but now I want to see you"
Stacy's lips spread into a wide grin as she hopped on her feet and did a little spin. Her dress was red, long and loose made out a soft, satiny fabric.
"It looks beautiful Stace", I said.
"I make it look that way", she bowed.
"Zach will love it"
She frowned, "I'm not wearing this for him anyway, I'm wearing it for me"
I stood. "I'm going to get my shoes. I'll be back"
She didn't reply. She was staring at her reflection in the mirror, swaying side to side.
I walked out of her room, heading straight for mine and when I got into it, I sighed miserably. The box was in my grip. I didn't know how to let him go, if I could let him go but I needed to try, I would never know if I didn't try.
I placed the box on top of my bed and I looked away.

The Ramsey's mansion had a fairytale look to it. It loomed colossally behind tall, black, iron gates. Rows of deciduous trees bowed under the night sky. Indoor lighting lit up all the windows. The atmosphere was quaint, I could hear people inside when Zach parked his car.
