When the trees have almost turned their last golden leaf for the passing of the warm season, glossy on the street, winter is at hand. The sky is of rolling clouds, a thousand of snowflakes falling like beautiful flowers from heaven. It was a sight that meant Christmas had truly begun.

With that revitalizing cold and the soft air, It was the perfect day for staying home, but she had to exit from her comfy room for celebration, and because Lapis want to go.

"Awe come on, enjoy the snow with me"

"Alright, alright, I'm coming"

As the biggest holiday of the year, also the most wonderful time that filled with cheer and joy, where you are surrounded by love and cared for by the people around.

Everyone loves the holidays, well, maybe, but mostly we do, right? Those present comes in a box with a pretty ribbon. Except for one.

The day was illuminated with that special pale light only winter's Sun could give, Peridot was cold, even with her sweater and coat. Holidays...It's freaking cold and I just want to be home, fixing my droids...Tho maybe

Different year, same holiday, all the days she has to live alone and no purpose at all, yet this year, it's a new opportunity she never has experience, with her new family.

This is our first Christmas together...Our own Christmas.

Beneath the frost, beneath the snow, beneath the cold bright sun, beneath the blanket of white, Peridot watched each of her footfall sinks into the crystalline snow as she made her way to the sidewalk, then she turned around to see her path laid out behind her in the otherwise pristine white.

Everything feels so...festive. Holding out a cup of tea as she watches Lapis playing in those and shaping them up, her grin as wide as her cheeks will stretch, fooling around until night falls.

"Lapis, remind me next time to get a tree, will you?" - She asked her

"What for?"

"I'd love to know what your face looks like when you see the present I place underneath it"

"I'm not five you know, but well, it's quite intriguing"

There's always something interesting going on in her head. But she has to keep her eyes on her lover first. The light from the glowing candles from the nearby house almost resembles hovering auric orbs in the pitch dark.

"We better get home now, it's almost midnight"

"Already??! No..."

"And someone said they aren't five..."

Looking up at the starry night, she grins. Hopefully that she doesn't up to any mischief...

"Urm, so yesterday I was out with Connie in town for a stroll", she took out a small present wrap in one crimson color, "At first I thought about buying you another Jane Austen book but Connie has recommended something else, maybe, well...", the blonde girl handed over the gift. As Peridot watches Lapis open her gift, tension playing over her features. Inside it's the kind of a new book, the kind of genre Lapis would love to check.

"The first book of 'The Spirit Morph Saga', I don't know if you — "

Before Peridot can open her mouth to ask if she loves it. Without a word, she was cut off by Lapis surprise kiss. The clock struck twelve and she already feels like she's the happiest one in the world.

"Of course I will love it"

"Guess I shouldn't have doubted my instinct huh?"

"Yep" - Lapis smiled, that somehow has brought the warm to Peridot heart, she caresses her cheek "Let's head back, I myself has 'wrap' a present for you too"

"Really? Is it some new droid material model? I always want one of those!"

"It's not but something like that~, You'll see"

"Okay"

Even on the coldest days of winter, their love could still be each other warm, bringing joy to the heart. The snow has a purity that elevates those spirits, the world made as pristine as a book ready for new stories.
