Chapter 19: Open Phrase

A/N: Been a long time, I'm sorry...There's something big going on in my life, and.. to be honest, it wasn't easy to get out. I got lost for a while and thought I couldn't bring myself back again. I found... for someone I could die for, but yet, fate isn't fair, life isn't fair, I have to let her go, even... it breaks me apart so many many times.  I'm recovering... slowly, I would do any harm to myself, I promise her that, yet, it painful right, to let a person you love most go because of... just wrong time, and you couldn't do anything about it at all, and just watch them go away from your life.

Anyhow, I'm back at writing again, post a short one first then I will try to make the rest a bit longer lol. Sorry about that.

"Is it okay to leave the little princess and your highness at home?" - Bismuth asked her, the one that looks soullessly to the ceiling.

"Kyanite is a tough one, she'll kick anyone asses to protect Lapis if I wasn't there", as Peridot answer her question, eyes still locked at the unstable light above.

"Your family is surely something, I envy that..." – She took a firm smiled at her. "Anyhow, we run some test at Jasper's remain memory she gave you before she died, apparently there's still something left hidden, a message unread maybe could take a bit longer"

"I'm not going anywhere, aren't I?"

Bismuth turn on the machine, light flicker rapidly then turn green.

There's Jasper, again, but only her hologram. Right, she has turned to dirt, this is only a piece of memories left. Been a long time has Peridot see her face once more after the day they part.

"How were you doing? Still grieving over me?" - She stopped for a second "Well don't, everything has its reason right? Same as my death. Guess you are having your own happiness by now, I mean, if you didn't propose to her I swear I will come back to life and make you do it."

A small laugh, as if Peridot was trying to give one to that joke, she knows it couldn't be real, she wishes,...

"- But". Like a snapback from reality, Peridot looks up to Jasper's Hologram again, "There's one thing I haven't... I mean, I couldn't find a time to talk to you about this. There's a time, a long time ago, when we came back from one of the patrol days. Do you remember? That day, you went crazy because of an unwanted situation. Thought it was nothing until... I see...those dark horrifying shadow around your body, it's like they were alive,...and with no good intention. It had me concern for the whole time after then I haven't seen it came back. I thought it disappear, but when you were trying to save Lapis at the beach on that day when we were taking in the Mirror by Agate, it reappears again, and this time, the dark shadow around you grew bigger than before. I just want to warn you, be careful, it might not be good for the future, of you and her. Take good care of her, Peridot, never let her go, or your family, I know they are now something that important to you too. Someday, someday you and I will meet again, for now...farewell, and never lose hope in yourself Peridot"

It turns off...the machine was shut down after a click, so is Jasper, gone in thin air.

"I wonder what is she talking about" – Bismuth frowned, her eyes turned to Peridot, waiting for an answer but she didn't respond to any of Bismuth, "Hello? Earth to Peridot?"

"Huh,.. What??! Ah,... Yes, I'm okay, I'm fine" - Peridot got perplexed in her words.

"You really need your head to the ground girl..."

"Yeah right, say that to the one who couldn't get her feet on the skating floor last week..., ever since the War stop and the Little Homeworld School is created, everyone life got much easier, the Diamonds are no longer in control and earth have much more space for activity. Everyone has their own business to do, plus also I notice how change you are recent"

"What are you talking about?"

"Sure my head not sticking around onto the ground but yours ain't either, have you notice your face when Pearl is around? It got silly"

"Now excuse me, that's my most calming face", Bismuth exhaled, slowly, yet her face showed a little blush, "She's been working hard too you know, it's great when seeing her having a good time around the people she likes. As in Steven, ...the boy still busy with the work at the school, he's a teenager now isn't he, a lot of problems at that age. Taking care of them in while a time was exhausted too"

"You don't say... I have one of my own. Now I know all the 'experience' Pearl has during the time...kids, sometimes they are cute and sometimes they just don't..." - Peridot frowned

"Don't stress yourself too much" - Patting her on the back, Bismuth changing the subject, asked the demon "Let it loose sometimes, do you want to go to the Starlight Roller Rink tonight? Everyone will be there. Well, most of them. Bring the little girl too, let her join the crow, why do you always keep her at your house?"

"Kyanite? Nope...I try to bring her out of her room for years, and every time I do so she just runs to Lapis and telling her like I'm the bad one...She with all her books and her own world, I'm happy that we don't have to fight like old-time but... dealing with her somehow makes me think I would rather be fighting then having tea time with a growing teenager"

"Just try, and bring Lapis too, it would be fun. We all do, and... for one thing that much more important, your daughter was not to live in a dangerous life, nor endure the same tragedies you have before, just feel lucky so"
