Walking across the pavement, Lapis bite the bottom of her lips, wondering. How the heck did I fail that much easy task. Why did I stop at that moment...

Before It Happens

Standing next to the blonde girl body now that has laying on the cold ground. Is this who Nora want to capture? But she's so weak, I thought it would be someone that was more powerful.

Lapis's hand grab one of the swords that were pinned on the field, seems a bit rusty but still got its shape. Since she doesn't specifically said capture 'alive' or not...The sword swung up, pointed at the sky and ready to sweep real hard.

What the??! My head... She flinched as the pain goes through, one hand still held the rusting sword, the other has made its way to the head as she uses to retain back her stability. When the demon is just inches away, normally Lapis could easily 'finish' the business, though this time she stops and just gazes.

After a moment Lapis raises her hand to her face again and feel the tears fall, "Why am I crying?". Suddenly something whooshed through the air, an arrow came from the north. There was a cracking sound, and the sword clattered to the ground. Lapis has dodge away from the sneaky attack but bad timing has left a split on her mask.

Another one came not long after, the person loaded the arrow and took aim. She knew it was best to shoot right away, but afraid Lapis would end the girl if she misses the next one. To miss was to lose. She lowered the bow and slowly walk out.

"Maheswaran"

"Lazuli" - As they both facing each other.

"New one I see" - noticed the new Pink Sword on Connie's back, Lapis mused.

"Like it? I work really hard to get this done since the last one you broke it"

"Maybe I should break your neck instead this time"

"Feel free to try. You might succeed if you give a little bit more effort"

"Come one, you know I don't use my power on human, it wouldn't be fair."

Connie first swings the sword right at Lapis directly. "Fair to this 'Angel'". A hit, yet it was Lapis intention, though it causing her mask to broke in pieces, she grabs the little one collar, "Gotcha".

"Guess again"

Seizing her arm, trapping them to her side. Lapis was never lack of concentration before, and now it was twice in a day. When Connie approached, her balled fist collided with Lapis's cheekbone, flaying her neck backward. As she stumbled, nearly fell over, rubbing her cheek. Her action certainly took the angel by surprise.

"You little..." Her voice comes back at the girl, tight with rage.

Her lip and nose were caked in dried blood. The now browning blood had drizzled down her face. With instant payback, making Connie condition wasn't much better, purple welts were scattered across her abdomen. It hurt to breathe and she wondered if some ribs were cracked.

The girl can feel the heat of temper rising in the angel in front, her urge to kill is increasing. At that moment, Connie reaches for the knife in her pocket and making Lapis advantage lost. Escaping from the grip, she takes a step backward and points a finger at the angel.

"This time only", as she reaches to the blonde girl hand and throws a smoke device. Connie carries her on her back and they both flee.

" That damn trick... Nora won't be happy about this"

Back To Present - White Palace's Garden

Failure, failure...It's circling around in my head. Just you wait Maheswaran.

At the tree-line Lapis raises her hand, eyes scanning the grassland beyond. There is so much caution around right now and though she could be focus on many of that, the one that got her attention was otherwise. Peridot? Who is that? Why is this name just pop in my head? This doesn't make any sense.

Yet her time daydreaming would be longer if she hadn't being follow, a shadow lurking behind her back was clearly in a bad moment. She called her.

"Amethyst. Get out"

"Oh so you DO see me"

"Not that hard to, why are you stalking me?"

"Stalking?! Damn that a harsh word. Pearl as me to check on you, miss arrogant, though I'm not sure why she care so much."

"Tell her I'm fine"

"Will do", as Amethyst about to leave, but she stop and thinking of hanging around the blunette a little longer, "You seem busy. Ever since Nora gave us that order, right? It's weird huh? 'Killing all Demon insight"

"If you have trouble with it, then quit"

"Aye, I never said that, but just aheads up. You're way in too deep girl"

Lapis think so too, but maybe because she doesn't know what it purpose, following around orders and not ever question about anything. It didn't seems right at all.

"By the way, for the first time failing, that was quite some madness" - Amethyst raise her eyes brow and point at Lapis hand. There's some stain still cover up.

Whatever she do, Lapis could never wash the mess from her hand. She could still see the blood, she tried to, over and over but the blood still appear, stubbornly remained. No matter which way she took it always came back to the only solution, kill, and there is no way out.
