"Mommmmmm!" - the girl screamed, running toward her mother, Lapis noticed the girl's voice echo from afar.
The little girl slumped fast at the breakfast table, her brows creased and face tense. When Lapis sits, coffee in one hand, she asks "What is it Kyanite?" - her tone is casual and light.
"She's doing it again" - Kyanite wiped up her nose, pointing at Peridot
"Peri.." - Lapis sighed while Peridot looked cluelessly, standing outside the garden
"What? That's still a debatable problem. Right Pumpkin?" - Keeping her smile, eyes open wilder, Pumpkin seemed like he didn't care much, just let out a large yawn and then sat back.
Kyanite scowls at her scrambled eggs dish in front that Lapis just made for her "This isn't fair"
Lapis takes another sip and then continues, serious-faced, "I see, well, she just wants to protect you, sometimes it gets a bit... too much, but..."
"I just literally 5 feet apart from the wire fence and then what? She and Pumpkin rush in like I was in someone's basement that needed to be rescued. And you know what's worse, IT'S IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL!! All of the entire students saw that!!"
So... is it that much embarrassing that you want to quit school now? You know it won't help to change anything right?"
Kyanite's face crumples again, "I don't know..., Argh, this is so embarrassing!!"
Lapis makes her face straighter than a poker player's and says, "Kyanite, you're not going to run away again, aren't you." - Small frowned, putting down the coffee cup.
Kyanite's eyes followed her mother's movements, studying her facial micro-expressions. She knew not to be too quick to judge or say any word. Suddenly Peridot approached her little one from behind.
"Ah come on, I didn't mean to,... It's just a way of showing...how much I love you. Aw don't be such a baby, let me take you for an ice-crea-" - as Peridot tried to reach Kyanite's cheek, the girl suddenly snapped it back, and stood up furiously.
"I-don't-want-an-ice-cream, stop showing what's not necessary, stop protecting me from nonsense stuff, and stop treating me LIKE I'm A FIVE YEARS KID"
Kicking back the chair as she stomped her way upstairs, "I HATE YOU" - she shouted, there goes followed by a scream from deep within that tiny mouth.
"Now that's a hormone explosion" - which left Peridot and Lapis unspoken
"It's not that bad... right Lapis? Pumpkin?"
Pumpkin looked up as he shook his head, his tail swift then walked outside for a good nap.
"You and I will have another talk - later" - With a glare from the corner of her wife's eyes, Peridot didn't move an inch "Yes ma'am...".

Welcoming from the open door to the wide hallway, Lapis trail along the main corridor, have a glance upon the walls were the photographs of her family, so obviously so loved. The floor was an old-fashioned parquet with a blend of deep browns and the walls were the greens of summer gardens meeting a bold white baseboard. Under the lamp shine, it was nature's art, something that soothed right to the soul. This is all that she could ever imagine, a home, with her loving one. Continuing to follow Kyanite to her room, Lapis saw the young girl back humping, face toward the window, the little one was hugging tightly to her pillow, not too angrily yet not so tender either. The bedroom was not so dark when there's the moonlight shone boldly above the night sky, around her, with the floor tidy enough to show that she cared about the space and just messy enough to show that she was able to let her creativity roam free. It was her Goldilocks zone, perfect for how she was.
