Aphmau's POV

I look at Preston's shocked face as it quickly fades and a panicked look takes over, "You didn't tell anyone, right, Jess?"

I shake my head, "No one other than you. I don't think that counts though." He seems to relax at this before he starts laughing.

"Nah," He begins, "That doesn't count. Not to me at least. I guess I should be thanking you for keeping my secret huh you prickly cactus?" I stifle a low growl.

Preston looks vaguely concerned about it, "It's nothing Pearston. Just having some minor difficulty controlling Aphmau."

He nods before looking over at Sly and back to me, "You want to tell him to go back to the hall and I have the rest of the pack meet us here? They shouldn't be too far, well, Rob shouldn't be at the very least."

"Yes!" I practically squeal, what? I'm happy that I'll finally be able to see my brother again, "Please Purrston? Pweaseeeeee?"

He rolls his eyes at my childishness before his eyes glaze over. Oh, so he wants to play that game. I can do that too. Revenge will have to wait until later though. First, I have to get Sly to leave the two of us here so he doesn't suspect the rest of the pack. Torture here I come!

"Stari?" I call out to him. He had crossed the clearing and was leaning against a tree with his eyes closed, obviously lost in thought. About what, I could only guess.

He looked at me, "Si, mi amor?"

"I'm gonna be taking a detour with Purrston over there so you can head back to the hall if you want." He seems offset by this before he stands up.

"Jess," He says, using my real name for the first time in... a while, "Are you sure you'll be safe? I mean, you're going to be in the middle of the forest with someone I've never met before! How am I to trust that you'll be 100 percent fine when you reach the hall?"

I give him a quick hug, "Sly, I'll be fine. If I was ever going to be safe with someone, it'd be Preston," He opens his mouth to interrupt me but I keep talking, "Other then you or the rest of the few. Just trust me on this, okay?"

He nods, reluctantly, before he places a quick kiss on the top of my head, turning, and flies off as he pulls his helmet on. Only one thing goes through my head as this happens, What had I done to deserve him?
