Sometime in the night, Mia and I had made our way back to the floor to dance, but this time, it was much more crowded and the only reason I don't freak out is because of the alcohol running through my system. We had lots more drinks, including shots, and I officially wasn't buzzed, but drunk. Mia grabs my arm as she jumps to the music, making me let out a laugh as the bodies next to me rub against my back.
Mia holds my arms, making me dance with her as the music surrounds us. Some girl's hands set on my shoulders and slide around my neck before landing on my cheek to get her attention. When I look down at her, she's a beautiful brunette that's wearing a white crop top with a denim skirt. I notice that Mia slips away into the crowd and my panic starts to rise due to the crowd that was continuing to close around me.
The girl sets her hand on the back of my neck again to get my attention as she presses her hips against mine to move to the music. I can feel the sweat forming on my entire body as well as the panic still rising within me. I desperately search for Mia in the sea of people but see no sight of her and I try to ground myself before I freak out too much because I knew it would be terrible if my panic were to get even bigger than it is right now.
The girl lets out a small laugh when I accidentally grip her waist a bit too hard and I pull my hands away, but she just places them back on her hips as the song changes to a more upbeat one. Everyone around me continues to dance, some of them crashing into me due to their intoxication. I officially feel myself starting to panic to the point of an attack and the entire room gets blurry as my breathing starts to get stuck in my throat.
I feel someone grab my arms before I'm pulled out of the sea of people by a pair of strong hands on my biceps. My hands reach out desperately for something to hold and I grip whoever this was's jacket that had a soft texture to it. We rush through the people, ultimately bumping into most of them before I'm pulled out of there, a huge breath filling my lungs. By the time we reach my table, I've gotten a bit better from being out of the crowd for a bit.
"It's getting late, let me take you all home," a soft angelic voice says and I immediately recognize it as Julian and tighten the grip I had on his jacket. I immediately remember that I had told him that I hated crowds the last time we met and he probably saw me in there and realized that I was freaking out. I was extremely grateful since there was a high possibility that I would've passed out if he hadn't pulled me out of there.
"Oh, don't worry about it, we'll just call an Uber," Mia tells him, looking over at me with a confused look that she pushes away to reveal her calmness that was running through her body due to the alcohol.
"No, I rather take you all home myself. It's no problem, I wanna make sure you all make it home safe. Come on," he says and he starts to move towards the front door and I realize that he hadn't let go of me yet. My mom comes over to me to ask if I was okay and I just give her a nod as the cold air hits me when we get outside.
"How was your night, sir?" Some man says as he stands in front of a clean SUV, wearing a gray suit as he opens up the car door for Julian.
"It was alright, we have to take these people home, so just ask for addresses and we'll be on our way," Julian tells him as he slides into the backseat before helping me into the car. I don't know why, but my head automatically falls onto his shoulder as someone slides in to sit next to me as my mother tells the man her address and then my apartment's.
"Mila, that girl seemed pretty interested in you," Mia says with a small giggle as she sits in the back with her mom, setting her hand on my shoulder to get my attention.
"Yeah, I guess," I whisper, letting my eyes close as I reach out to grip his jacket again because I liked the softness of the texture.
"He's alright, he just got caught up in the crowd and I think that scared him a bit. I got him out of there in time, so you have nothing to worry about," Julian tells my mom, I'm assuming. A hand reaches out to set on mine and I grip it, knowing that my mom was going to worry either way because she knows how much crowds freak me out.
