"hajoon..you're such an idiot!" she hugged her brother tightly, feeling both relieved but also upset, "why would you do that?!"

"i'm sorry.." he muttered, looking down at the floor as he clenched his fists tightly. she kneeled down to the boy's height, rubbing her thumb over his cheek

"why..? how long hajoon?"

"2 months.." he refused to make any eye contact with his sister making hyesun let out a disappointed sigh, "since..hyunjoon would come home late due to work..he would never catch me and you were always in your room..so i hid them in my drawer and hyunjoon never found out about it. i-i..thought no one was around at school and i-i just..i couldn't..-"

hyesun cut him off, "just..promise me you'll stop taking pills...anywhere. at home and at school. we have to take you to therapy for 2 weeks. i know you need the therapy but i don't know how long we'll be able to keep up with it and we want you to go regardless"

"if you guys can't aff-"

"we can. you're going to therapy hajoon. whether or not we have the money, you're going" she replied, "we'll find a way. i just want you to be happy and be better. that's all i want for you" she smiled sadly before she stood up straight and he finally looked at her while she looked down at him, "i need to go fill out some papers. wait here"

hyesun then walked out of the ward, closing the door behind her. she immediately let out a sigh, wanting to cry her eyes out but she had to keep her cool because of who was there with her.

"you okay?" she heard a voice and looked to her right only to find jaehyun who accompanied her to the hospital

"i'm fine" she answered the boy but in reality she was on the verge of crying and just cutting the last thread that was holding her onto this life

"your voice doesn't speak 'i'm fine' " he pointed out and usually she would've let out a snarky remark but this time, she didn't respond. she felt too tired and exhausted to do so.

he let out a sigh before bringing the girl close to him and wrapping his arms around her

hyesun froze in her spot not knowing how to respond to the boy's sudden nice gesture, "what's the point of hugging someone when that someone isn't going to respond?"

her arms slowly went around his waist, still uncomfortable with the closeness between them.

in a usual moment, jaehyun would've been an idiot and said something along the lines of 'don't think this makes me like you, i still hate you' but he felt in this moment that hyesun didn't need some stupid insults that he would given and that she genuinely needed someone to be there for her, so he instead kept silent and comforted her in the best way that he could.

and hyesun enjoyed that. it felt nice to be in his embrace and as much as she felt like crying, suddenly she didn't feel it anymore.

finally hyesun pulled away, taking in a deep breath, "thank you jaehyun..i hate saying that" she muttered the ending causing him to chuckle lightly.

"i'll take it" he replied which left a small smile on hyesun's face while she excused herself to go fill out papers for hajoon.

he stayed at the same place as before, watching the girl walk away from him. unknowingly, the boy kept a small smile on his face watching the girl.

"i can go back to school tomorrow..don't worry jisun" hyesun's groggy voice spoke over the phone to her best friend
