the next day at the hospital, the two siblings were in hajoon's room as the doctor bowed to the two siblings before leaving the room.

the two stayed in silence, processing the information they were just told.

"six million won..?" hyesun mumbled, fiddling with her fingers in her lap.

hyunjoon bit his lip, not knowing what the hell to do. not only did he have to pay for his own bills with his therapy but now the added expense of hajoon's hospital bill was going to be alot and he knew well that he wasn't going to be able to pay for both and even if he didn't pay for his own therapy, he wasn't going to have enough to pay for hajoon entirely.

if he were to cut into his savings, he was going to cut a lot into it, barely leaving any money in the savings.

he had to figure out some way to pay for the medical bill.

the boy looked up at hyesun who was just as panicked and worried, figuring out in her own way how she could help.

"hey." he leaned over and placed his hand over her's causing her to snap out of her trance and look at him, "it's going to be okay.."

"yeah.." she mumbled and hyunjoon could feel her trembling under his hand.

he knew well that it probably was not going to be okay but he had to think of how.

a knock on the door was heard causing both of them to look at the door now. the door slid open, revealing jaehyun.

hyunjoon's eyes darkened, not knowing that his sister and him had made up even though he would still resent him regardless.

"i'll be right back.." hyesun excused herself from her brother before getting up and walking out of the ward with jaehyun, sliding the door close behind her.

"how you holding up?" jaehyun asked her as the two now stood outside the ward together.

"just..hanging in there i guess.." she replied as she sat down on one of the vacant chairs, "i don't know what to do jaehyun.."

jaehyun sat down beside her, patting her shoulder.

"the bill is 6 million won." she let out causing him to widen his eyes then soften once again at the girl's expression, "hyunjoon and i can't..afford that. i have no idea what we're going to do."

hyesun refused to let any more tears fell, feeling almost numb to the whole situation.

she wished that everything could just be over. why couldn't she ever just be happy?

jaehyun had gotten an idea but he knew that hyesun would likely object to it but he went for it anyways.

"if you want.." he began, "i can..probably help you guys out."

hyesun looked at him, wondering how he could do so.

"i may need to make some calls but..i could help pay for it possibly." he offered her.

hyesun looked at him in shocked, wanting to badly decline his offer because she didn't want him to help her out but she knew well that her and hyunjoon were not going to be able to do so on their own.

"i'll have to talk to my brother about it." she responded, "i don't think he feels the best about you at the moment."

jaehyun nodded, understanding, "the others should be coming down today."

"yeah, jisun texted me earlier this morning. told me to hang in there." hyesun chuckled lightly, "all of this just feels so surreal."

jaehyun proceeded to wrap his arm around her shoulder, rubbing her arm in a comforting matter which made her feel somewhat better.
