hajoon being in the hospital obviously was taking a toll on the two siblings.

jaehyun, his sister, and hyunjoon were in the process of getting all the money together to pay for hajoon's hospital expenses.

they were gathered in hyunjoon's house in the small dining room

throughout the whole time, hyunjoon was feeling awful, using their money but they kept reassuring him that it was fine.

hyesun was in her own bedroom, pacing back and forth out of nervousness and anxiousness.

she was biting her nails so bad that she basically had no more nails.

hyesun felt horrible that jaehyun and his sister had to help with expenses and hajoon still hadn't waken up which was adding onto hyesun's uneasiness.

a knock on her opened door was heard causing hyesun to turn around and look at the door.

she made eye contact with jaehyun who had a small grin on his face, "hey sun.."

the small nickname immediately made the girl melt and almost forget everything wrong. almost.

"hey.." she responded, a weak smile displayed on her face as she walked over to her bed and sat down on the edge, "you can come in."

jaehyun entered her room and walked over to her. he took a seat next to her, their arms touching.

"so..we got everything figured out. hajoon's expenses will be paid for." jaehyun spoke, hoping it'd reassure her.

but her guilt would still eat her on the inside, "thanks..and i'm sorry-"

he tsked causing the girl to look at him confused, "you and your brother are the exact same." hyesun tilted her head, as if to say 'huh?', "he kept apologizing to me and my sister for the money. saying he'll pay us back and he felt bad. we kept reassuring him that it was fine though."

"we're very apologetic i guess.." she mumbled, looking away.

jaehyun grabbed her folded hands in her lap and wrapped his own hands around her's.

her hands were cold yet were warming up due to his hands.

hyesun looked down at their hands then back up at the boy.

"you don't need to be sorry sun. you're very important to me and a person i care for so much. hajoon means a lot to you and i've enjoyed the time i've spent with him. i'd be willing to help you and hajoon no matter how much i had to do. for you, it's worth everything." jaehyun explained to her.

hyesun stared at him, baffled and could feel the tears wanting to spill out of her eyes but she didn't.

she smiled at the boy, holding onto his hand tightly, "thank you jaehyun. really. i'm so grateful for you."

if hyesun had told herself a few months ago that she was grateful for jaehyun, she would've told herself that it was nonsense.

she would've never imagined herself, in her bedroom holding hands with the boy she was convinced she hated.

jaehyun leaned in and placed his lips on her forehead, leaving a lingering kiss there.

the grin on her face stayed as he pulled away, moving his hand to brush a few strands of hair out of her face.

"hyesun." a voice called her out.

she looked to her door and saw hyunjoon standing there. she gave a quick 'excuse me' to jaehyun before he released their hands and she stood up.
